  • Seattle - SAM's last 1st thusday art open till midnight!

This coming Thursday is SAM's last 1st Thursday event where it will be open till midnight! It might be fun to informally gather up a bunch of biznik's to show up there and represent!

I'm hard pressed to set up an official event since I'm already planning to be there with a friend.

  • Dance dance dance and connect

    Hey Biznikers,

I am interesting hosting a dance event where WE are the DJ's. Would work something like this: We can each create our own dance music playlists, we aggregate the music together ahead for time for the dance event, then you show up on the dance floor and throw down what your momma gave ya.

As always, the venue and cost of something like this will depend largely on the number of attendies, so...

If you think you would attend a 8pm-? dance and connect event like this, please raise your metaphorical hand.

    New feature offered by Goo.

They turn off the adds of other sites for this customized search. It looks pretty nice.

  • biznuss ideas in developing countires

    Hi Biznikers,

IBM is inviting individuals to post their technology based ideas on how technology might partner with business (most likely small) to improve the quality of life in Africa.

This idea forum seems to be run as a real meritocracy, so I would encourage anyone with a viable idea to contribute.

The deadline for idea submissions is the 25th of this month!

Can anyone recommend such a person?

Does such a person exist on Biznik?

    Thanks, Cere

  • recommedations wanted to event locations

    Hey folks,

I'm interested in hosting an event, but am not sure about where to host it and what would be required to use the kind of location I am interested in.

The kind of event that I want to put in is sort of facilitated book club/discussion group hybrid. The ideal setting is a place that had comfortable chairs (couches would be a real bonus) and space for say...less than 10 people. Not too loud.

    Any ideas?

  • Paul Stamets on: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World:

This guy is really interesting and an expert in his field. He is giving a talk about the deep and wide footprint of one of natures more silent but powerful forces: Fungi

Did you know that there's a kind of fungi that can digest jet fuel?

Did you know that fungi are now thought to be more closely related to animals than to plants?

He's giving a free talk at Bastyr University at 7pm, this Monday, Wednesday the 7th.

  • legal structures for cohousing

    Hey Biznikers,

I am interested in talking to anyone who has experience in forming or working within legal structures for community based housing.

That legal structure could be an LLC based structure, condo association, or even a land trust. I've read that the various legal structures have various benefits and drawbacks, but I would find it more useful to learn by talking to someone who has worked more closely with this kind of thing in practice.

    Thanks, Cere
