What Chris does

NOT YOUR AVERAGE SENIOR COPYWRITER

At first, I was a child. Then things changed dramatically. And suddenly, I was a writer.

I'm a very good writer who's written for a trillion clients in just about every medium. And that's the kind of title people place ads for--"Senior Copywriter" --but it doesn't cover all that I bring to my work. Here's the big picture:

Sr. Copywriter, Idea Generator I come up with strategies, concepts, delivery systems and copy that connect messages to audiences and revenue. I brainstorm like the dickens.

Over my head Inventor Fearless, curious autodidact, able to get in way over my head without swallowing water. Armed only with my art school education and 30 years of agressively learning what I need for my work, I came up with HUSH, a medical product that helps protect neonates from a devastating, life- long disability. This product is now in the works.

Accident Prone I accidentally wrote a book (Home for the Holidays & Other Calamities, which accidentally became a feature film. (Home for the Holidays, Paramount Pictures, 1995). It was directed by Jodie Foster and had an award-winning cast. This led to accidentally recording my book on tape (Simon& Schuster) and then contributing copy to a cookbook tie-in, requested by Jodie Foster. I never tried to sell any of this to anyone. It took on a life of its own!

Born Dot-Connector Since convergent thinking sucks, I designed, wrote and am producing a subscription-based program that libraries offer to their communities. ORBIT inspires divergent thinking through a fun and enlightening reading adventure. The program meets and exceeds the current National Library goals.

I Got Game. I collected a group of fellow seasoned artists (writers, a painter, a poet, asculptor, two designers, a cartoonist, and an animator) and launched a fun Art Game designed to coax people away from their comfort zones, into new realms. Great results prompted me to then conduct the games with non-artists, kids and other groups. I am now structuring the game a to be part creative thinking, part art class.

Swashbuckler I take risks when it's appropriate. I took a job with the Rolling Stones Urban Jungle Tour in Europe and logged 26 cities in 5 months as the crew's travel advance person. I wrote entertaining info sheets on each city for the crew, and became their "Road Mom" for the duration.

Creative Cross-Trainer Thirty-some years of observing, studying and practicing, has made me visually fluent and full of passion (not bologna). Drawing, painting in the classical style, experimenting with style and subject. My visual vocabulary informs my writing.

Down to Business So yes, I'm a Senior Writer, but an unusual one. A true creative head wears lots of hats. So I call myself a "Creative Problem Solver Con Gusto."

What exactly do I concept and write?

  • Branding
  • Web sites
  • Print
  • Broadcast / Podcast
  • Blog
  • Speeches / Presentations
  • Alternative messaging
  • Magazine & Newspaper articles
  • Creative writing & Humor
What Chris does best

Concepts and strategy set the stage for great creative. This is my happy place. I:

  • Savor the learning curve inherent in each project and brainstorm
  • Love working with clients and colleagues who dive deep into audience-centric messaging and visual delivery systems
  • Believe every element in branding and communications has a job to do
  • Love to deliver a tight, targeted solution.
What does Chris need?

MAJOR NETWORKING! I'm still new in Seattle, where businesses have never heard my name. (It wasn't so when I lived in Boston!) So I'm struggling to find insider intros to companies I'm interested in working for. Online inquiries and applications go straight to the unseen bin. My small-but -cherished number of new Seattle friends don't know people who work here...But maybe YOU DO! There must be a few Bizniks who knows someone currently or formerly employed by one of these business--or even have a friend who knows people in any of the companies listed below.

I'm a VERY good, wildly experienced Sr. Copywriter who I KNOW someone needs. I'm looking for a humane work culture. (resume at www.chrisradant.com) Please look at this short list and let me know if you can help get me in. I'll handle it from there!

-msnbc -Entellium Noetix Corp -All star directories -Pb Elemental

-Google -Allyis -Babylegs -Cascadia -Adaptis -F5 -Zillow -Pyramid Communications -SKB Architects -DDB Seattle

THANKS!! You're a Peach.

Education

Autodidact. I've created my own lifelong curriculum. I went to Indiana University for a minute, then Herron School of Art for 3 years, and many, many advanced oil painting classes, most recently at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. I studied the Enneagram to add depth to the characters in my creative writing. I'm an excellent student who vigorously tracks down my areas of interest.
