What Christa does
On one level--the most obvious level--my work is all about words. Crafting messages that influence or inspire. Refining lots and lots of words down to the few that really matter. Identifying words that best represent a business, person, situation, or idea. And so on.
But on another level--as stories like this go, on a deeper level--I help people and businesses find the truth of who they are and what they do. No, not through mind-melding tricks or psychoanalysis, but through focused, thoughtful listening.
Once we get to this truth, then I can have fun with how to express it in words. If you're doing just what the next guy is doing, the options are more limited. But if you're doing something special, or with more gusto or care than the next guy, then by golly you better talk about it in a way that people believe. In a way that makes a difference in people's lives.
This is what I can help you do. And I love it.
What Christa does best
- Listening - Good writing begins with intent listening, and I've got great ears.
- Imagining - Like a modern-day, word-loving Rumpelstiltskin, I can spin creative imagery out of nuts and bolts to bring your product, service, or story to life.
- Story Telling - It's cliche by now that all writers are good story tellers. I'm a story teller in search of the truth--YOUR truth.
- Educating People About Healthy Stuff - I have an extensive background in health education, nutrition, and natural/alternative health and love putting it to use in meaningful writing projects.
What does Christa need?
Creative collaboration! Teaming up with other writers as well as designers, PR pros, and marketing stars adds mojo to my solo biz.
Education
Master's degree in Health Education; ongoing writing workshops at SVC (School of Visual Concepts)
Experience
The greatest experience I bring to my work is the life experience that has shaped my world view and my values. It sounds cheesy, but it's true. I believe that life, and my work, gets better the more I stay engaged with what's real, challenge my comfort zone, and think outside of the box. Let's talk about it over wine sometime.
