Eastside Women in Business (EWIB) Announce First Anniversary Queen of Hearts Gala & the Wibbey Awards Joe Kennedy | Aug 25, 2009

Eastside Women in Business (EWIB) recently announced the First Anniversary Queen of Hearts Gala & the Wibbey Awards to be held on October 11, 2009 at Bellevue’s own Belletini from 5pm-9pm. What are the Wibbey awards, you might ask? According to Executive Director Lauren Archer, “The Wibbey Award Celebration is our opportunity as a group to recognize women of wisdom and achievement.”

EWIB will bestow five distinguished awards during the red carpet awards ceremony. Categories include WomanBusiness Owner of the Year, and the coveted “Queen of Hearts Award,” honoring women who have made notable contributions to professional women of the Eastside.

Created in 2008, Eastside Women in Business is a professional organization designed to foster genuine relationships between its members. Working to bring women together in a mentorship capacity, EWIB has grown exponentially and the retention of its members is noteworthy. As member Joanie Glasser describes her experience with EWIB, “I came for the business networking but stayed for the camaraderie.” Women with substantial community reach are joining EWIB in droves which will make the upcoming Wibbey Awards an event that will create significant impact in the Eastside community.

Limited sponsorships are available. The gala will host a silent auction with several companies donating products and services. Wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, live entertainment and special guests will complete the evening. Tickets to this “almost black tie” gala are $48 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of FSH Research (www.fshfriends.org). Details at www.ewib.biz.
