In the mid-1980's in high school I started my first consultancy, teaching people how to do desktop publishing on a 512k Mac. That led to a job offer in the high tech industry directly out of high school, and a long career in working in the Chasm of Misunderstanding that exists between humans and technology.

15 years of slaving in the cubicles of Silicon Valley during the computer boom of the 80's and 90's. Apple, NASA, JavaSoft, Sun Microsystems, Applied Materials, and several startups as well (Jasmine, NuvoTech, DataBright Management Systems, etc).

Then 7 years of working in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Publishing (Budapest Business Journal, Seven, Budapest Week), high tech (PayMentor, NetCollect, Novalis - Croatia), NATO contractor, itinerant screenwriter. (And a brief stint in South Africa working for a non-profit.)

Since moving back to the US, I was the Marketing Manager for Utilikilts for several years, as well as an employee of Biznik for a brief stint.
