I'd like to share a personal story with you about why FuneralResources.com is so special to me.
When I recently lost my mother, the terrible loss was compounded by the question we had never discussed, "what do we do now"? Like most families, we had no idea who to turn to - or where to begin. It was this personal experience that helped me discover what the real purpose and mission of a website like FuneralResources.com should be.
Through extensive study, family surveys, and my own personal experience, I now understand what most families are searching for and the questions they need answered.
There are three main reasons most families are searching on the Internet for funeral planning help:
- A loved one has recently passed
- A loved one has been diagnosed as terminally ill
- They are interested in pre-planning a funeral
Surveys show that there are three basic questions these families need answers to:
- What should I know?
- Who can I turn to?
- Where do I begin?
With such an emotional situation, most families are just like mine...they feel vulnerable, uncertain, and quite frankly, uneducated on what to know or ask. During times like these, families need to know they are working with someone who is looking out for their best interests; someone who is credible and qualified.
With more than 25,000 Funeral Homes, the Internet is filled with Funeral Home Directories. However, the reality is most families need more than "just another name" in a Directory. What they really want (and quite frankly deserve) is a place where they find quick and easy access to the most qualified funeral professionals, combined with the right tools to help them research and access the necessary details.
As you can see, this is now my personal mission... to offer a place where families find answers to all of their questions, helping them become more confident, educated, and empowered. [less]
