I am the Creative Engine of ALL ABOUT YOUniversity, The Small Business Self-Promotion Workshops in the Washington, DC Metro area.

I also head up ENGQUIST & EDGE Message & Marketing, our parent company, which provides exclusive custom marketing services.

I have spent the last significant-number of years creatively and strategically positioning, marketing, and selling products, services, issues, policy positions, and personalities.

My background includes experience in corporate New York, on Capitol Hill, and in government, trade and charitable associations, non-profit organizations, retail operations, sales and marketing, and entrepreneurship.

I have shared my strategically creative talents with entities such as Nordstrom, The American Trucking Associations, Avon, the Arlington, Virginia, Chamber of Commerce, and the McLean Business Forum. In May 2007, I was the featured speaker at and consultant to the launch of the new Budapest, Hungary, Business Chamber. This year I am one of the women business experts featured in "The Woman's Advantage" Page-a-Day Calendar.

As a marketing consultant, I work with clients on their marketing concepts, strategy, and communications. I also coach at ALL ABOUT YOUniversity, interactive workshops designed especially for entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses to develop and implement self-promotion techniques.

With a "blood type of E for entrepreneur," I have invented and run my own businesses since the birth of my daughter in 1992 and my son in 1994. I now am a speaker on the topic of "Career Development and Work/Life Balance." I am the wacky-in-a-good-way mother of two teenagers, one of whom must be driven to and from his school 20 miles away every day. My teens challenge me to continue to develop the useful skill of multitasking and to avoid the temptation to text, sing, and attempt to drive at the same time.

Ever since I found out that registering children for preschool requires strategic planning and political savvy, practicing the work-life balance has become a logistical skill for me, often requiring spontaneous problem-solving, creativity, and alternate routes criss-crossing Northern Virginia. In the course of chauffeuring teens, meeting clients, and actively networking, in six years I have logged about 120,000 miles on my van, whose license plate reads, "VIVIDLY".

I see things that other people don't see because I am extremely perceptive.

In my professional life, that enables me to see a business's competitive picture from their client's standpoint rather quickly, and to come up with creative, proactive things that they can do on the promotional front.

In my personal life, that enables me to laugh and have a whole lot of fun!
