SENIOR PR/MARKETING SPECIALIST, 2002-2004 Valley Medical Center - Renton, WA

Established and carried out strategic plans supporting hospital mission and the goals determined by elected board of Public Hospital District No. 1 of King County. Advised hospital senior leadership and ad agency on campaign decision-making while adhering to the nearly $1.5 million annual marketing budget. Relevant achievements:

• Successfully implemented and managed campaigns for four hospital service lines (Birth Center, Breast Center, Joint Center and Sleep Center). Created awareness and increased patient volumes. For example, Joint Center campaigns helped increase total joint replacement surgeries from 435 in 2001 to nearly 540 by the end of 2004.
• Championed and directed complete redesign of the hospital Web site. Received on average 24,000 unique visits each month. Managed all content.
• Worked closely with medical directors and nurse managers on content creation for Joint Center and Birth Center patient education binders, communicating complex health information in an easy-to-understand manner.

PR/MARKETING SPECIALIST, 1999-2002 Valley Medical Center - Renton, WA

Advanced the hospital brand position in the district and regionally through planning and management of direct mail campaigns, newsletter production and special events. Relevant achievements:

• Managing editor for the report to the community, a full-color community newsletter produced three times a year. Reduced per-issue budget from $60,000 to $52,000 while maintaining full-color and 150,000 circulation.
