Looking for Teachers / Instructors

One of my jobs is to help put together a Continuing Education Program with The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) for Aracania Elemental Wellness. We are currently applying to become an Approved Provider through The NCBTMB. Several Teachers affiliated with ARCANIA have already been teaching various classes for as long as 15 years. We are now at a point were we want to put ourselves out to a bigger population and get our name on a national database. Examples of some classes our Teachers provide are Gemstone Therapy, Conscious Healing, Qigong, Pain Free Neck Work, Aromatherapy, Interpreting Energetic Blocks, Online Billing for LMP’s, Acutonics, Sound Therapeutics and more.

We are currently looking for individuals who wish to become a part of our organization to teach a course or courses to Massage Therapists and/or Body workers for their required continued education. The classes / workshops can range from body based, ethics, business and beyond. As long as it applies to Massage and Bodywork, in fact you don't even have to be a massage therapist to teach these classes.

After talking with myself and you decide to do this, you will receive an application to fill out in the time allotted and your information will be submitted along with other instructors under the organization of ARCANIA Elemental Wellness. The application goes to the NCBTMB Staff and Continuing Education Review Committee for approval. Once approved the organization and the individual instructors will be listed on their national database for individual participants viewing.

We are meeting on Jan 29 with everyone who is interested and will have the Main Application sent out by Feb 15. This means we could be teaching classes that are approved through the NCBTMB by April. Anyone ever used ClickSmart?

A clicksmart rep. just called me trying to sell their site/services. Which is seems nice and the price wasn't too expensive, especially for the exposure you get. I mean you type in Seattle Massage on any search engine and they are the first hit.

So I am curious if anyone has ever used these guys and if so was/is it worth it for your business? It seems they have limited categories with Real Estate, Mortgage, Massage, Florist & Weddings/Events.

The Fine Line With Your Online Presence

I just recently "finished" my new webspace for my business and I am actually stoked about it. I mean for what I do I don't need a lot of content but I also wanted to include a blog, so I did. Wordpress made all of this real easy. And in a few weeks I should have my own graphics to apply to it as well.

So the question I wish to pose to everyone is where do you draw the line with the content in your blog and or links you may have listed?

I know most businesses will blog about "relevant" content that applies only to what their business does. And to me that makes sense and I understand that. Personally I am a Wholistic Practitioner (Which translate to me doing a lot of witchy ju-ju stuff to make people feel better). So being the alternative wizard that I am, I felt compelled to include more than Wholistic Health Care information on my site.

I am new to business and have no money so I am of course doing things completely out of the box, but I am learning what it takes to be successful and definitely defining your target audience, doing the research and marketing toward that genre is key.

I know that web content especially on your blog is obviously personal choice and you may either attract or repel prospective clients because of it. So the answer to my question is probably, does your web content serve your target audience.

I would like to hear from others if they have tried "personalizing" their web content to "their own desires, beliefs etc." and if so did it work for business?

Fall Make-Over

So in review of my physical look lately I am considering changing some pheatures. All of my life I have been shaven (head and face) and now I am at a time in my life where I can choose to have long hair and a beard, and I like it. But I am also looking to "do something" with it.

Essentially the image I am wishing to portray is a sort of "neo-zen chinese medicine man look" 1/2 urban, 1/4 shaman, 1/4 zen, without a ton of maintenance.

Basically I started this thread to get ideas from all the other Bizniks out there who maybe feels my passion about having a great look without having to compromise their values of just shaving their face, keeping their hair short and completely bow down to the business world. I am looking for the middle path.

And also I don't really want this topic to be about me, I wish to hear what other people have to say in general, as that what this is all about anyway, ALL OF US.

Networking with Qigong

So I am going to be facilitating weekly or bi-weekly Jing Jing Gong Qigong. The idea is to get other bizniks together for a meet and greet while I facilitate a 20-30 minute Qigong routine that anyone can do and remember for greater productivity and vitality. The Qigong is fun, yet can be vigorous while moving CHI through ALL body systems.

So I will be doing this early Monday mornings and at first I was thinking 10am, but I was also thinking a pre-work (7amish) routine would be good, for me and for you guys.

Is anyone actually interested in this, and what times would you suggest? Also would this be an appropriate Biznik event?

Where? Well this would be at the new Healing Arts Center in Capitol Hill, ARCANIA Elemental Wellness.

My friends Jacob Caldwell and Daenin Tejeda have just completed the construction of their brand new Healing Arts Center on Capitol Hill known as ARCANIA - Elemental Wellness....

This is a beautiful space which has a classroom to hold about 40 people and will have room for healing arts practitioners as well.

There is a massage space, their sacred tools creation station and is also home to the soon to be famous Salt Water Deprivation Tank where one can float in body temperature salt water in the dark and relax in peace..

They will be hosting community events such as toning circles and Smoothie/ Movie nights (SMOOVIE NIGHTS) monthly and bi-monthly so keep your ears and eyes open for these events...

Proceed to the Double Doors through the Driveway.

Currently I am looking for a part time office assistant/manager job to get me through my transition from a full time student to a full time practitioner / business owner. Any recommendations for registering my domain name, I am not sure if it matters, but as I am clueless to this I wish to get my name secured, until I am ready to build the site.

An Official Hello

I've been lurking around here for some time now, and thought it best to get busy, networking.

So I am definitely new to business, especially in creating one. I have learned an immense amount of information just by reading through Biz Talk lately. A little overwhelming, but just like anything new, face the fear and do it, over and over again.

I know I want a website, but for now I am going to upgrade my blog and set that up as my temp site....any suggestions?
