I'm an artist. I've been a jewelry designer for the past 5 years and have been keeping Cleo Wolfus Designs afloat. The Seattle indie design market is growing & my business skills are improving. I'm learning how to network with regional crafters to create a demand for original work.

There are however major challenges. How do you convice the general public to pay the higher cost of American labour to keep American crafts alive? Many labor intensive American hand crafts are dissapearing because they are too expensive to make and are farmed out to developing nations to manufacture cheaply. I certainly can't compete...[more]

There are however major challenges. How do you convice the general public to pay the higher cost of American labour to keep American crafts alive? Many labor intensive American hand crafts are dissapearing because they are too expensive to make and are farmed out to developing nations to manufacture cheaply. I certainly can't compete with the Chinese work force nor the advertising budgets of the big brand labels. Hmmmmm.......

Meanwile while ugly economic issues are at work. I'm still here sewing and sewing......

Besides my fine craft shows, I also promote community art events like- "Zombie Walk", a Valentine making event in February and some and all ages shows. I'm a Halloween nut...so hit me up if you want to do something spooky come Fall......
