Hey guys - I get to have a root canal - and I would much rather be there with you near the beach!! Next time!
Oh man - if that whole cloning thing was all ironed out - I could be there with you guys, and over in Los Angeles at the same time. But alas - cloning has some issues. Have some fun without me!
Great article! It is so true about designers versus zippy123 insta logo places. Not to mention this is true across not only logo design, but any creative field that can be "outsourced".
whew - somehow this one got lost in my email - I need to see if I can make it - I hope so - I almost missed it...I will RSVP as soon as I can check my calendar....

Thanks Elizabeth! I will have to listen to your show on Blogtalkradio.com too! You should do something out your way - why not? I believe there was someone having some Biznik meeting in IE check out the past events pages - and maybe you two could put one on together!
Thanks Jill! Hope to see you there! And hope you can listen to the show...
Just a note to mention something about your domain name and hosting. I would always suggest to my clients that should they register their domains with the same company that will be doing the hosting if at all possible. Mainly because the billing will be far easier to remember a year from now. You never think about the domain once it is registered, but when it's time to renew or change something, you have another account to track down a user name and password for.
And my other note would be about using a small local company for the purchase of the domain. I am all about the "little guy" as far as supporting small business. However, I did that for years and was burned very bad. Small companies do not have the capabilities financially and technically that bigger ones do.
What does this mean? Well if you move, or your card on file expires, or change your email address or anything like that, the efforts to get a hold of you to let you know your domain is expiring are extremely low. I was with this company for years, and between bulk email, my dog dying and moving all within a month or two - they released one of my clients domain names! It took 2 years to finally get it back, wihtout their help whatsoever. They usually don't have the resources to call or snail mail you reminders, which is what you really need. Companies that will be around for years to come are the safest and best in those regards.
Good Luck!
Thanks for putting this together Colleen!

Hi Melanie, I don't know if you are still looking at options, but I suggest GoDaddy, and if you have them all ready you can either import your existing blog from another company with a click of a button, or set up a Quickblogcast account within Godaddy themselves.
The templates are very clean simple and easy to use, and I use them as well even though I know how to program. Depending on your detailed needs of what you would like to do as far as design or beyond the template basics - that should be simple enough. If you have other questions, just give me a shout. I am in LA.
Handy resources! Thanks for the tips!
