I am a lawyer focusing on real estate, tax, and bankruptcy law. I help people and businesses draft and review documents. I give advice and counsel about the legal effect of particular transactions, including the tax consequences. I also help people in litigation matters -- that is, preparing to sue or defending a lawsuit. Previously, my practice was focused on debtor-creditor and bankruptcy law, and I continue to accept new bankruptcy clients. I have handled more than 600 consumer (individual) bankruptcy cases both before and after the 2005 reform act.

I recently joined the firm of Spencer Anderson Buhr PLLC. Our 4 attorneys practice in areas including estate planning, family law and dissolution, and consumer law. We are ethical and professional, but at the same time we have a "no jerks" policy and all 4 of us are extremely approachable. We hope our firm will grow and mature with the clients we serve. Our firm offers many of the legal services that individuals, families, and small businesses need.

I believe strongly that "lawyers are leaders" who must give back to their communities, and volunteerism is a lifelong commitment for me. Besides being an active member of several voluntary bar associations, I also serve on the Professionalism Committee of the Washington State Bar Association. On April 17 I begin a one-year term as President of QLaw: the GLBT Bar Association of Washington. In my free time I enjoy hiking, travel, and weight training.   I'd like to be able to say that I can't wait to send a referral to Dainen----only the nature of his business as a truly outstanding bankruptcy attorney prevents me from expressing this wish.

  Those fortunate enough to meet Dainen will agree with me that he is dedicated to clients, and truly cares to give them the best advice, and great coaching too.
