What Dainen does

Top-ranked on avvo.com, I am a lawyer focusing on real estate, tax, and bankruptcy law. My practice focuses on helping individuals and small businesses in financial difficulty, or creditors who need help collecting on debts owed to them. I have handled more than 600 consumer (individual) bankruptcy cases both before and after the 2005 reform act. Additionally, I provide advice and counsel about the legal consequences of real estate transactions, including the tax implications. I also help people in litigation matters -- that is, preparing to sue or defending a lawsuit.

My law firm, Spencer Anderson Buhr PLLC, is a 4-attorney firm with practices in areas including estate planning, family law and dissolution, and consumer law. We are focused on top-quality, ethical, and professional service. Our firm is equipped to help a variety of people and businesses, from young professionals and startups to seasoned closely-held companies, as well as individuals and families with significant income and assets.

Our firm believes strongly that "lawyers are leaders" who must give back to their communities, and volunteerism is a lifelong commitment for each of us. I am an active member of several voluntary bar associations, and serve on the Professionalism Committee of the Washington State Bar Association. I am currently serving as 2008-2009 President of QLaw: the GLBT Bar Association of Washington. In my free time I enjoy hiking, travel, and weight training. I've also been known to kick a soccer ball or two around.

Call or email us when you need big-firm legal services without the big-firm costs.

What Dainen does best

Complex Chapter 7 and 13 consumer bankruptcy cases (high income, high assets, sale of home, post-filing representation, unique circumstances). Representation of individuals and small businesses in collection action, or who are creditors in bankruptcy.

Real estate transactions (drafting or reviewing documents) and litigation (filing or defending a lawsuit).

What does Dainen need?

New real estate and tax clients. Whether they be people who need assistance with transactions or with litigation matters, I am happy to help. I continue to accept bankruptcy clients, and enjoy meeting new contacts and giving my "bankruptcy in a nutshell" speech so that they can act as a conduit for their friends, family, and others who are experiencing financial difficulty.

For potential tax clients, I am admitted to the U.S. Tax Court and can provide advice about the tax implications of a transaction, or can handle an audit defense or an application for innocent spouse relief.

I always appreciate referrals -- and don't forget about my firm's other practice areas. Thank you!
