SAFECO Insurance: System Support Administrator, 1994-1998
- Joined small support team for 1,000 employees with accountability for all computers, servers, network and telephony systems.
- Helped dramatically improve service levels by implementing service level agreement that structured expectations and wait times. Cut average wait time from days or weeks to under 60 minutes.
- Created database to track incoming issues and obtained cell phones and radios for team-members to ensure good communication.
- Assisted with roll-out of new computers to replace dummy terminals. Completed project in only 3 months as opposed to planned 6 months. - Implemented remote access software to allow traveling employees to access the system.
