This was great. Thank you so much for putting this together.
Im a photographer and have been creating and sending email promos to potential clients. I am going to see how I can apply what you've said for photography promo emails.
Thank you!

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for this article. The point that drove it home for me was how to dress at a networking event. The networking events I go to are usually through APA (Advertising Photographers of America) and usually everyone is in jeans and whatever shirt and coat. (oh artists!) But if I dress it up just a little bit more I might be picked out of the crowd easier and make the impression I want to make.
Thank you for your time in writing this!
Danielle
I thought this article to be pretty interesting especially since I was just talking to my boyfriend about my wardrobe (or lack there of) the other day and had pulled him into French Connection to look at all the pretty things I cant buy...yet! =o)
Its true though, we all make a quick judgments based on the way people dress or just look in general and when it comes to business we are judged TEN FOLD! I would definitely think twice before walking into the first meeting with an Art Director wearing my orange crush t-shirt. Though its my favorite and probably a nice topic for discussion, its probably not the best thing to wear to show my maturity, professionalism or that Im a hard worker...hmmm So there lies my problem...most my clothes are these funny cotton T's...good for the kids but bad for the AD's. Whats a girl to do!
Guess its time to go SHOPPING!!!
Thanks for the article. This is a great one to share!
I have been thinking about this the past week and have come up with a few ideas I hope to implement into my business. Its so true! People want things made easier for them and they want it now. Instant gratification.
I know in my industry the market is saturated and more and more people have the money and access to do it. I have to rely on my product, creativity, quality of images and service and stay aware of the new trends going on to keep up!
Thanks for the article!
Wow! This article was great! Selling is my least favorite thing to do. But if im just "hanging out" talking to someone I have found that people are generally more interested in what I do and have to offer because I get excited about it.
I know I need to GET OUT and network. It makes sense. Its definitely something I need to do more of and its nice to hear/read that when I do I don't ned to have a concrete sales pitch every time.
Thanks for the wake-up call!
