What Danielle does
As a massage therapist, I offer my clients the opportunity to relax, unwind and consider the infinite possibilities... Living with pain, tension or lack of ease - problems that keep one from living fully, enjoying the present moment - are issues that culturally we are often trained to take for granted, to simply "deal with". The human body is an amazingly dynamic system that is beautifully capable of healing itself and letting the individual know via symptoms when something is awry, so why ignore a problem or cover it up with drugs without asking some questions first? What I love about massage is having the opportunity to acknowledge a symptom and work with the body to address the cause and learn from the situation in a meditative, honoring way. It's a beautiful, challenging, interesting, educational experience - and, oh, yeah, most people say enjoyable and fun ;)
What Danielle does best
I incorporate Swedish massage techniques (what most people know as "massage") with basic elements of Hawaiian massage, myofascial work, joint mobilization, deep tissue massage and stretching in my work. Clear communication and breathwork are also significant aspects of my bodywork - they increases a client's awareness and strongly support the process of unwinding tension/pain patterns. No matter what the focus of the work, be it working with an old shoulder injury, a headache or relaxing after a stressful week, I think of massage as an opportunity to create a safe space for individuals to "just be", to breathe and to pay attention to what the body (physical/emotional/spiritual) might need as I provide gentle ("gentle" doesn't necessarily always mean "light"- I think of it more as "aware") therapeutic bodywork. My background in healthcare connected me with great practioners in other areas, too: chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncturists, other massage therapists, reflexologists, yoga instructors, etc. I enjoy helping people create a wellness network. For those who are interested, I also am a preferred provider with a number of insurance companies, and I accept L&I claims (worker's comp.) and personal injury claims with prior authorization.
What does Danielle need?
Currently I am looking to soundproof one of my spaces - any great suggestions?
I am looking to expand in about a year, and if all goes well, hire employees, so any insight on business expansion - how to support it, how not to overextend, what to expect is - is welcome!
