What Darcia does
I was a family law trial attorney for more than 20 years, and consequently, witnessed personally the failure of the adversariel system to meet the needs of divorcing familys. I am looking to work with individuals who want to minimize the emotional and financial stresses of divorce through mediating agreements which address the unique attributes and strength of thier family.
Children and adults going thru divorce, separation, loss of a relationship also may need support, coaching, and counseling to assist in them in the transition in a positive way. I would like to work with individuals who need assistance in this very difficult process.
I am a Clinical Family Therapist and a certified Washington State Family mediator. I counsel individuals and families adapting to significant life changes. My clinical practice includes, but is not limited to, working with children and adolescent's struggling with post separation or divorce adjustment issues, seniors and care-givers of aging parents, parent coaching and therapy for high risk adolescents and transracial and multi cultural adoptees.
I am an experienced mediator. I mediate family matters, including divorce, parental separation, and post divorce issues. I assist partners in reaching agreements and in filing the required papers in court.
I am a Parent Evaluator and work various forensic capacity's in king County Superior Court.
