Custom development and support existing databases using FileMaker, primarily on the Mac. I have worked with many non-profits to to enhance their development work both with contact managers and other areas such as auction management and grantmaking. In the for-profit arena i have worked in database-to-print projects and web back-end databases using FileMaker's web publishing capabilities.

I am also a Mac wizard, providing system and network support for Macintosh users.

I have several outdoor sports events on the calendar including the Finish Line Festival at the Seattle To Portland Bicycle Classic, site support at TrailsFest for the Washington Trails Association, and the Seattle Triathlon Expo.

These are two very diverse areas of work, but I enjoy both of them too much to give up one to concentrate on the other. I also find that each is an antidote for on overdose of the other. I can follow a major event with its frenetic schedule and long days with a week or two of solitary work on the keyboard.

Backstage. I'm the wizard behind the curtain. I enjoy working backstage, dealing with the production details of an event or a database, making the machinery work so well it's invisible.

Front end people. My projects work best when I collaborate with customer service, promotion, and graphics folks who create the public face of the work.
