Assist companies or non-profits in maintaining the health of their employees. Return-on-Investment for health promotion/wellness programming has been shown to be significant when there is buy-in from all involved. Incentives for all to participate is very helpful. We can do some non-invasive biometrics, e.g., weight, height, BMI (body mass index), as well as assisting the company with diabetics. We have an RN/CDE on staff, who can assist with diabetes (availability- Wednesdays). Based on the results of the biometrics, and a Health Risk Assessment (HRA), recommendations will be made to assist in maintaining the good health of all employees. By maintaining the health of employees, a company can eventually reduce health insurance premiums, reduce sick leave, avoid re-training expenses, and give employees the sense that they are cared for, other than just for their labor. Health promotion and disease prevention will be part of the Obama Administration's health care policy, focused on saving money over the long term.

Explain the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and some roads to achieve it. I'm a fan of Dr. Andrew Weil, the wellness guru from PBS. In the latest book of his, Healthy Aging, he (and many others) make the point that chronic diseases are taking a tremendous toll on the lives of Americans, especially our ability to enjoy our later years, post-retirement. As one who'd like to enjoy those years to the fullest, Valley Wellness, our company, is happy to assist in that effort.
