  • Bike Ride Changed to August 30th

I have changed the date of this ride - so that others I talked to will be able to join us. I hope bike riders at Biznik can join this Event. I promise a great ride and maybe a surprise.....

If you have any thoughts, questions, etc, don't hesitate to get in touch.

  • Curious

I posted a Bike Ride and Network Event. I know there are Bicyclists here at Biznik, but so far zilch. The last Bicycle Event, quite a few signed up, but by the time the Host and I arrived, only one person was waiting for us (we were late). We heard that other riders went on a ride with the other host.

So I wondering is this too late in the season to get a ride together? Or is it just not an Event that has interest. I know 12 people read my post, but no one has signed up yet.

So I am curious - with the beautiful weather coming up, why not get out on one of most classic bike trails and have a great conversation and a pot luck picnic?

  • Bike and Ride in August

My business partner is going to be out of town, but I am planning a Burke Gilman ride from Gas Works. We can go as far as Mathews Beach (14-15 mile round trip or out to Bothell Landing (about 32 miles, but with food) We could plan a picnic at the beach. Just want to get a feel for the kind of event you'd like. I will post the Event in a few days

  • Curiosity Question

I have been attending a few Events and doing a couple of my own. I was just checking a few Events, then began to look at my profile and the Promotion I'm running.

It's very straight forward: For every referral you send us that turns into a sale, we pay you $25. If you find us 6 referrals that turn into sales, you can turn around and purchase a Brake Director. We'd cover the Sales Tax (new).

So far no bites. I wonder if it's the product or the people reading it, what their own interests are. I know there are bicyclists here at Biznik. We are planning a Bike and Network event. I have even been introduced to a member who runs a Cycling School.

We have not been sitting idly by. We just finished an interview for the Florida Police Journel which also allowed us to contact and use the Seattle Bicycle Police for action photos. We will also have a presence at the National Ability Center Day July 19th. Look for my business partner - David Hawkins riding the STP (Seattle to Portland sponsored every year by the Cascade Bicycle Club, the largest bicycle Club in the US).

So would cyclists be interested in a bike and network event? Are there members who know of someone that could benefit from a Brake Director on their bicycle? I want to point out that our product was originally designed for the Rider with Upper Body Limitations, but we discovered that families and children especially benefit by having the ability to stop where they chose and not beyond the sidewalk and into a street where .... you get the point.

Anyway this has been one of our ongoing needs - to have some success in the Seattle market. Any help, introductions and especially referrals will be most welcomed.

  • Business Closures

Gas will never go down in the near future - and all costs are going up. Unless we are aware and monitoring our costs and overhead for the business, you might suddenly wake up not only in the negative, but close to being out of business. It happened to Bear Stearns.

After watching the elephant in the room knock one business out and almost create a problem for another, I decided to write about this issue. In this organization we do not see or talk about this. It's not a natural subject, but if we are aware of the elephant, as I say, we do not have to feed it, but knowing where it is and managing our credit and financing can not only avoid this, but the business can thrive.

That's why I wrote this article. I am waiting for it to get approved, but I'd be very interested in your thoughts.

  • Video Role Play Rescheduled

I want anyone that is interested in this Event that because of Memorial Day, many offices are closed, including My Day Office.

So I moved it to a week later. I hope that works for those that are interested. If you are interested, but can't attend, shoot me a quick note and I will add another session.

  • Video Role Play

It took me a while, but I have posted a new Video Event for May 26th. You can read all about. I've adapted it from my theater training. It's another way to see and understand yourself and the people around you.

  • Need Video for your Profile?

I am a Certified Videographer doing Legal and web and DVD promotion. I already have a Promotion up, but if you wish to produce a video for your Profile, I'd love to talk with you.

You can talk with Howard Howell to schedule or talk with someone at Biznik for which I have videotaped, edited and produced a web streaming video.

  • Group Health Seattle Int Bicycle Expo

I just want to remind everyone that this weekend will be the Bike Expo. If you want to see the Bicycle Market, this is your best chance to understand why I chose to post an Event right after on Marketing in the Bicycle Market. I believe Biznik members will have an eye opening experience.

This promotion has been up, but after this I will post a real offer from us to members. We support this community because we believe networking is the best way to promote what we do. I hope you will stop by our booth 171, but I hope you will also walk around and see the opportunities waiting for you.

  • Phone numbers beginning to need 10 numbers

I just want to give everyone a heads up that Qwest is now shifting the call system within 206. I already have seen this happen to me twice, but as a ex phone employee, it means that they have reach saturation and will now require 206 as an indicator local with the number, requiring that you dial 206 with the number and without the 1 to make a local call.

We have just posted the new location for this event and added a few more spaces. We will post again later in the month as the Bike Expo and this Event come closer

  • Bicycle Market Event Question

So far I only have one person coming to this Marketing Event on Wednesday. I will leave it until tomorrow, but if no one else signs up, I may reschedule this later for the start of the Bicycle season in March. Meanwhile if you ride a bicycle, check out our promotion for the Group Health Seattle International Bicycle Expo, one of the major Bicycle Expos in the country and see for yourself what the Bicycle Market could offer a Biznik member looking for a new market.

  • Someone asked me....

about my Bicycle Event. They ask if their area fit this event. Thinking about this, I realize that many here may not understand whom this Event is pitched to.

As to Web Designers, Webmasters, Web Hosts, we all know whom we are working with and what they can do here. The Bicycle Market uses the web in as many ways as you can imagine and then some. Any kind of search can introduce you to many sites locally, across the country. Etc. If you create for the Web, would this be a market you could use?

During Events such as the Seattle to Portland ride, there are Wellness Stations at key points where a rider can get a massage. Some are trained. Some are not. Some do it in one day, most in 2 days. There are races at the Marymoor Veladrome. The Cascade Bicycle Club lists many Events and Activities where a Health and Wellness member could again open a market opportunity.

But how do you break in and build opportunity in the market? This is where I decided the best way to talk about this is at a local bicycle shop. Between my business partner and I, we have opened markets that no one thought we could and then a few we never even imagined. We want to share our adventure in marketing terms, and then show how you can get into this market with your business.

I hope this clears up any questions members had. If you still have a question, don't hesitate to contact me directly

  • Bicycle Event posted

For those interested in learning how they can market themselves and their businesses to the Bicycle Market. David Hawkins, my business partner, has experience with every part of the market. I myself have seen business directly related to businesses here. Why not find out what's in this market for you?

  • Bicycle Event anyone?

David Hawkins and would like see if anyone would be interested in a Bicycle Event where we would discuss the Industry as it exists today. What does that mean to a bicycling customer? We will also explain the basic Spring maintenance and tune up.

We are also thinking of offering tune ups. For those at Biznik that use a bicycle as transportation or recreation, this could be a great and informative event and a lot of fun as well.

Let me know what you think.

  • Video Event Dec. 12th

I just talked with my friend at Apple. He's going to look at the Event and check who's coming - so that we can do the fine tuning to this event. I want to thank those that are planning to attend. This makes it easy to have a good discussion. And I have the material for the Apple to work on, but because he's only got one day, I am giving my camcorder to input the footage and decide what he will use.

I look forward to seeing you there. And yes, we will also talk about how software in Windows compare.

  • Happy Hollidays

Chanukah starts tonight and Christmas is coming up fast. I want to wish Happy Holidays to one and all from Nimbleland and Brake Director LLC. Tis the season to think of others and reach out with a hand and good cheer. As one who played Tiny Tim sitting on Scrooge’s shoulder (absolutely 100% true), I say "God Bless Us Everyone!"
