  • Video Opportunity

David Kuhns and I have been doing Video Role Play/Video Replay which has allowed Small Business owners to learn about body language (something we do unconsciously, unless we are looking in a mirror. I use my Theater training to help you in front of the camera. The compliments have been amazing - so I want to offer this resource to anyone who want to benefit from the experience.

David Kuhn then discusses the SEO (Search Engine Optimization), what how and where you put your video after you make it. It really has opened my eyes on how this impacts the listing and how people find you and the video. z

  • Video Role Play in November

David Kuhns is working with Microsoft all through November, but I had made a promise to several that we would have an Event in November - so I have decided to hold a Video Role Play at the end of the November (Mosiac Date is pending, but there is nothing else that day).

I plan to allow more people to participate, but I will also go into the nuts and bolts of making a video, adding music and where is the best place to post it. I will talk about SEO from my experience.

I am putting this everywhere to get the word out to those who could not attend in the past. Check out past comment from past events.

  • Video Formating resolved!

I have been thinking about the resources and services I offer. People on Windows found that they could neither work on or play a Quicktime movie. I now have the complete capacity to Convert any Quicktime movie to Windows Media. This should resolve a lot of frustration and pain.

I will be adding this to my services from this point forward. If you have a Qucktime movie that needs to be concert , then contact me about. It now available!

Note: I felt that this issue was large enough to share in this space. My goal is to share discoveries.

  • Video Role-Play/Video Replay

We are doing it again in October on the 26th. It sold out last time and the response was incredible. Check out the responses in past events on my profile.

  • Dum Sum anyone?

It's been a few months since they did this. Are you a fan of Dim Sum? Jade Garden has some of the best in Town and it's a great way to talk and meet and share and network and eat wonderful morsels for a very reasonable price.

I hope you will join in the Event.

  • Brake Director LLC invited into the BBB

As of September 8th, we will be members of the Better Business Bureau of Seattle. This will allow us to use their materials in everything we produce - brochures, web site, DVD.

It not a small investment, but we decided to try it for a year and see if this builds our visibility. It certainly helps in the selling of our product.

  • Video For all Occassions

I have a Promotion going on that you might be interested in. I am also the Co-Host of an Event Video Role-Play/Video Re-play.

Although I usually do not make it up to Bellingham (The gas alone kills the idea without a paid job) but if anyone wants to see what I can do, I can send you a DVD Sample.

  • Video Thought and Question

I have been reading and thinking a lot about the SHINE Event (Sorry I missed it) and I have a thought and a question. I have read that some of you want to add things to your video. It's not that you can't, but it is strictly a Mac vs PC issue.

If it is in Quicktime, it has .mov at the end. That's why Windows Media Player cannot see it. That it wasn't saved out as .avi (which works for Windows and actually all formats) is not a limitation for the Mac. In fact, I just upgraded my software to export in Windows format from a Mac.

So here is my thought and question: Do you want to add something to your video? I can help you do that. I can import your movie and add anything you want to it.

Or if you didn't get a video and want one, I can help there as well. I am very busy for the rest of this week (I am monitoring my niece's auditions in LA along with a friend in NY who can sort through any offers she might get).

I will start up Events like Video Role Play and How to Make the Camera Work for You in the near future

  • Seattle Int. Film Festival

I just want every to know that I'm volunteering the Seattle Int. Film Festival. I have been doing something with them(Sponsor, Solutionist, Full Series member) for many, many years.

So if you want to catch a film and you see me, say hello.

  • Updated my Profile and Needs

I have done some soul searching and thinking about what I can offer members, and I have decided to minimize the Inventor side of my Profile. Let's be honest. I have yet to sell one unit.

I hope you will look at the Updated Profile. More changes are coming. I have been doing Events all around Video and now I think I can offer a unique skill set that goes beyond the equipment (I do have the camcorder, mikes, light kit, background, monitor, editing, background in designing background music (all the music for the Brake Director Stories was designed by me), to truly get the best of you on camera.

It's really simple. Take a Theater person, fully trained as a Director, purchase and gain skills with equipment and discover that I see more, get more and deliver more to you than a trained film /videographer may think. Even with that said, I respect filmmaker/videographer out there. This is not an easy business. My rates are lower because my overhead is zero.

The key is not the equipment; it's the person behind the camera. Take a look and decide for yourself. Comments welcome.

  • Bike and Network Ride anyone?

I was talking to a few people at the Last Event and someone mentioned that they thought a bike ride and network event might be great at the beginning of the bicycle season,

I am beginning to plan my training rides. I have been actually working on a Bike Event in August for a Major Organization dong Bike Events across the country.

But hey it still needs a sponsor. Boeing was their first choice, but with jets canceled and the mounting layoffs, they can only be a Supporter of the Event.

Either way I plan to ride and get in better shape. If anyone wants to join and share the Experience and a little of themselves and their business (I do not forget what we are here for), then let me know and I will schedule an Bike and Network Event very soon.

  • Brake Director Video on You Tube

I just threw up a video to You Tube to reintroduce. It's missing the web site, but I placed that in the description. It's an experiment to see if we get an increase on our new site.

  • Pledge Request for the SIFF Film Center

    Dear Oscar Night Attendee,

I am a FOOL. No, really! As a SIFF Full Series pass holder, I am part of the FOOL Serious (a word play on “Full Series”) group, the “officially unofficial un-organization of the Seattle International Film Festivalʼs full series pass-holders.” While not officially a part of SIFF, we are its staunchest ambassadors and greatest supporters.

As a FOOL, I have recently pledged to raise $1000 for the SIFF Film Center by doing what we do best – watching movies! I am writing to ask for your help. With more than 300 days of screenings at SIFF Cinema, more than 450 films at the Seattle International Film Festival, and 3,000 youth served through its educational outreach programs, SIFF has worked hard to fulfill its mission to create experiences that bring people together to discover extraordinary films from around the world

Now, after 35 years, SIFF needs a permanent home, not only to fulfill its mission, but to secure its future. With the completion of the SIFF Film Center, SIFF will have the capacity to expand its outreach into schools and the community at large.

Watching good cinema is not passive entertainment. The stories that films portray make you think; the experiences they project can challenge your assumptions; their conflicts can force you to reason, decide, and interpret the images that collectively make a movie. Film is an important and accessible medium with the power to influence all of us. We want SIFF to continue reaching out to people fostering a community that is more informed, aware, and alive.

Will you please consider sponsoring me? Help me help SIFF build itʼs future home.

With your help, I can reach my fundraising goal by the March 30 deadline. Thank you so much for your consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions and I promise I will keep you updated on my progress.

    Sincerely,

    David Krafchick

  • SIFF 24-Hour Movie Marathon

    5> A SIFF 24-Hour Movie Marathon

A SIFF 24-Hour Movie Marathon presented by the FOOL Serious

SIFF and the FOOL Serious proudly announce the SIFF 24-Hour Movie Marathon, a marathon to raise funds for the SIFF Film Center. This marathon won't be any ordinary marathon in which participants run or walk, but rather a movie marathon where participants will do what they love most - sit in the dark and watch films!

When is the marathon? April 4-5, 5:00pm to 5:00pm

Where will the marathon be held? King Cat Theater, Downtown Seattle

How long is the marathon? The marathon will run 24 hours, but you are not required to stay the whole time.

What movies will be shown at the marathon? Below is the exciting program that our programming team put together, based on suggestions from supporters and passholders. One additional, special film will be added, but you will have to be there to find out what it will be!

    • Harold and Maude
    • Alien
    • Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    • Goldfinger
    • Dr. Strangelove
    • Raising Arizona
    • Pulp Fiction
    • Run Lola Run
    • The Wizard of Oz

Why does SIFF need a Film Center The SIFF Film Center will allow us to extend our reach into the community and serve more people.

The SIFF Film Center would include an intimate 100-seat theater where SIFF can hold public screenings of exceptional films that would not otherwise be seen in Seattle; a venue for lectures and SIFF educational programs, including a classroom/screening room creating great opportunities for the public to hear from filmmakers themselves and for emerging artists to practice and hone their skills with experienced veterans; a much-needed reference library that will hold archives of scripts and films; and office space to accommodate SIFF's growing needs. The SIFF Film Center will ensure our future sustainability and growth, and will allow us to fully achieve our mission to create experiences that bring people together to discover extraordinary films from around the world.

We encourage you to join in the fun and help make SIFF's dream become a reality. And Now a word from David for Biznik Readers:

    Take a look.

    www.brakedirector.com

It's not quite finished. and that major Event will be posted on a new page with full news and watch this Event happen right here in Seattle.

But the main restructuring is done. There is even a new article about us that was not distributed, so we posted it on our site. A Review by the International Police Mountain Bicycle Association was published this winter and will be posted soon.
