  • Phone numbers beginning to need 10 numbers

I just want to give everyone a heads up that Qwest is now shifting the call system within 206. I already have seen this happen to me twice, but as a ex phone employee, it means that they have reach saturation and will now require 206 as an indicator local with the number, requiring that you dial 206 with the number and without the 1 to make a local call.

  • Bicycle Event Update

We have just posted the new location for this event and added a few more spaces. We will post again later in the month as the Bike Expo and this Event come closer

  • Bicycle Market Event Question

So far I only have one person coming to this Marketing Event on Wednesday. I will leave it until tomorrow, but if no one else signs up, I may reschedule this later for the start of the Bicycle season in March. Meanwhile if you ride a bicycle, check out our promotion for the Group Health Seattle International Bicycle Expo, one of the major Bicycle Expos in the country and see for yourself what the Bicycle Market could offer a Biznik member looking for a new market.

  • Someone asked me....

about my Bicycle Event. They ask if their area fit this event. Thinking about this, I realize that many here may not understand whom this Event is pitched to.

As to Web Designers, Webmasters, Web Hosts, we all know whom we are working with and what they can do here. The Bicycle Market uses the web in as many ways as you can imagine and then some. Any kind of search can introduce you to many sites locally, across the country. Etc. If you create for the Web, would this be a market you could use?

During Events such as the Seattle to Portland ride, there are Wellness Stations at key points where a rider can get a massage. Some are trained. Some are not. Some do it in one day, most in 2 days. There are races at the Marymoor Veladrome. The Cascade Bicycle Club lists many Events and Activities where a Health and Wellness member could again open a market opportunity.

But how do you break in and build opportunity in the market? This is where I decided the best way to talk about this is at a local bicycle shop. Between my business partner and I, we have opened markets that no one thought we could and then a few we never even imagined. We want to share our adventure in marketing terms, and then show how you can get into this market with your business.

I hope this clears up any questions members had. If you still have a question, don't hesitate to contact me directly

  • Bicycle Event posted

For those interested in learning how they can market themselves and their businesses to the Bicycle Market. David Hawkins, my business partner, has experience with every part of the market. I myself have seen business directly related to businesses here. Why not find out what's in this market for you?

  • Bicycle Event anyone?

David Hawkins and would like see if anyone would be interested in a Bicycle Event where we would discuss the Industry as it exists today. What does that mean to a bicycling customer? We will also explain the basic Spring maintenance and tune up.

We are also thinking of offering tune ups. For those at Biznik that use a bicycle as transportation or recreation, this could be a great and informative event and a lot of fun as well.

Let me know what you think.

  • Video Event Dec. 12th

I just talked with my friend at Apple. He's going to look at the Event and check who's coming - so that we can do the fine tuning to this event. I want to thank those that are planning to attend. This makes it easy to have a good discussion. And I have the material for the Apple to work on, but because he's only got one day, I am giving my camcorder to input the footage and decide what he will use.

I look forward to seeing you there. And yes, we will also talk about how software in Windows compare.

  • Happy Hollidays

Chanukah starts tonight and Christmas is coming up fast. I want to wish Happy Holidays to one and all from Nimbleland and Brake Director LLC. Tis the season to think of others and reach out with a hand and good cheer. As one who played Tiny Tim sitting on Scrooge’s shoulder (absolutely 100% true), I say "God Bless Us Everyone!"

  • 2 Holiday Specials

Well the holiday season is kicking into gear and with this in mind, I am offering 2 Holiday Specials:

    1. Buy a Brake Director in Seattle and receive free installation - that's a $45-$75 savings. Also if you bring in a customer that buys a unit, once again we are offering to pay you $25.

    2. Whether you have a bunch of jpegs or an Event you want to preserve, I am offering to create a DVD and 4 copies for $250. You need to give me a CD of Photos or for an Event of no more than 4 hours, I will bring the Professional Equipment to your Event. You can have the finished product in hand to give out as Christmas or Channukah gifts.

This offer is good until December 20, 2007

  • Video Event Dec. 12th

I want anyone interested in video or attended one of my previous video events to know that I have created an Event to turn Raw Video into Web and DVD Promotions for your business. It will happen on December 12th - and thanks to a suggestion by Howard Howell, I will talk Apple and Windows at this meeting. I even have an Apple Solutions Consultant presenting - and best of all, it's free!

I hope to see you there.

    David

  • Inventors question

I am thinking about another Inventors event to cover what we did not in the last Event - specifically copyright, software design patents and more indepth look at how you get it on the market.

We had a very good meeting, but I would limit it to these subjects and 2 hours. What do you think out there?

  • Brake Director New Site

We have been working with Andrew Sengul to get this new site up in time for Interbike which is happening right now. (September 26-28, 2007)

But I'd be interested to find out what you think. I'll be at McLeod Residence tonight or e-mail me at

    davik@brakedirector.com

    Thanks.

  • November Video Event Proposal

I have been checking the Video Event I'm hosting today and I see a small different group. I don't like to jump ahead, but I'll see what they need and develop my presentation accordingly.

But I have also talked with my local Apple Solutions Consultant and he has agreed to give an indepth from Raw Footage to Final DVD or Web. This will happen in November.

How many people would be interested in the Special Event and if we schedule a space, would a weekend or weekday do? I will be e-mailing the group that has the Space beginning of October. It would be great to know the interest. This is my way of returning the favor to Biznik.

And if you are interested, come on by tonight.

  • Discount offer and planning an event

I have posted a discount offer from Brake Director in the past and little has happened - so I have got a new offer that I posted, but I'd figure to post it here as well

Buy a unit, get $25 off. (you have to be a Biznik member) Bring a friend who buys a unit, get $25. Do this several times and you get the point.

Oh and I will be planning an Inventors 101 event for any and all interested in how you do it, what it will cost (with an attorney or not) and if you get the patent, what does it take to get to market. I will also share disasters, why they happened and what you can do to get past that.

  • Anybody bicycle?

As the bike season winds down, I still want to give Biznik members an opportunity to get Brake Director™ from us at a discount. Give me a call, identify yourself as a Biznik member, and we will knock off $25. Bring some to us and they buy, you get $25. So if you bring a friend to buy one with you, you can save $50. Bring a lot of friends who buy a unit... well you get the idea.

This offer is good until October 31st.

  • Wounded Warrior Update

For those that might be interested, in the next 30 days, things should pick up dramatically. We made contact with the Chief Information Officer who not only updated us on what happened to the 6 units we delivered last year (all installed and in use successfully), had a retired Marine who was injured in Iraq interested in converting his bike to Brake Director™(unit delivered overnight yesterday) but we are planning to send our demo bike with a BD unit installed to Las Vegas to be shown at the Wounded Warrior Project's booth at Interbike.

I share this as an example of payoff in not only keeping in touch, but improving or reconnecting at a different level can open opportunities you did not plan, but help jump you into the visible market stream. This was the goal for this year. That it comes at the end of the bicycle season points out that keeping open to opportunity as you move through the year can allow you to take advantage when it shows up.

Believe it or not I learned this lesson growing up in the theater. We began this year with less sales than last year, dug ourselves deeper into debt. If this works out, it will put us on the commercial map. Exactly what we need.

Congrats to Bob Dorsey. Along the TV feature, the Seattle Times has an article in Northwest LIFE section today. You can read it here:

  • Wounded Warrior Project

After over a year, we finally know what happened with 6 units we sold through Creative Mobility, a company in Illinois. Woody Groton, Soldier Ride National Tour Director,Chief Information Officer, Wounded Warrior Project talked to me today. He has six bicycles, 3 for left hand and 3 for right hand, all very successful. In fact he has a Marine soldier that he feels our product is a perfect solution.

So I share this because even reaching out across the country gives us answers we could not get here as well as opportunities for the future. They will be attending Interbike, the grand daddy of Bike Expos and will also promote us there.

I hope to see you some of you at the Video Event on the 18th.

  • Video Event update

I've put up an Event that will be held Saturday August 18. We'll be in the back room. And for those that read this I will be bringing more than just LCD and DVD Player, but I will be bringing my camcorder, maybe a mike. I just have to decide how deep you want to go.

So let me know and sign up today!

  • Video Event update

I was talking to Dan yesterday and think that an event on video production for DVD and web might be a good idea,

What I want to do is explain a little history. When we started out, I was sending CDs with Quicktime and PDF items. We signed license deals with Apple and Adobe. That lead to zip for our business. Then when we upgraded to produce DVDs things changed dramatically.

I want this to be a learning dialogue session where we talk about our goals and what you use to succeed. I will be able to showcase DVDs I've made (Bring yours as well), the responses and actions we produced - and what we can do to use these tools tomorrow to promote you.

Would this type of event be interesting to you. If I get enough interest, I will host this event.
