My entire life, I've been told I'm funny. Humorous. Witty. Clever. Hysterical.
But how do I know for certain?
AND, how do we support each other in BEING funny ... without deluding ourselves -- or each other -- when we're not?
And can we help each other recognize when we SHOULDN'T try to be funny? Or when we're trying too hard?
This gets / so complex!

Yes, I'm SHOUTING! Because I need poetic help tomorrow evening!
Group members! Here's the situation:
1) I was asked to MC 2 1/2 hour poetry reading sessions at SPACE for the Greenwood-Phinney Art Walk tomorrow, May 8th.
2) 2 other poets who where "supposed to" present just told me "no, we're not coming".
3) That means I have roughly ONE HOUR of time to fill!
4) I'm never done an open poetry reading before!
5) I don't really want to give 60 minutes of Dave (although I suppose I could)...
This is at the Greenwood Artwalk in Seattle, in SPACE which, if you contact me, I'll bet you the address of!
SOOO, what I'd like is 3-5 of you to volunteer to read 2-3 of your works (about 7 minutes each person).
What say you?!?!

Sorry, everyone, I didn't realize this was available! SO, I'll repeat what I mailed out to everyone in the group:
Welcome to CreWS, the Creative Writer Support group. NOT modeled after any 12-step groups (I don't think), the objective is to fuel the creative fire by writing and sharing our written work.
Honestly, I didn't think (much) about meetings or anything like that before putting this group together. SO, I'm open to any and all suggestions... especially if group members have done them before.
Poetry slam? ok, tell me how.
Writing group? cool. Give me an idea.
Writing/creative retreat? I'm IN -- anyone have a beach house?
Creative potluck? Food and writing go together in my mind. Wait. That's not quite right!
Open mic? (is that like a poetry slam?)
Performance poetry - improv poetry?
