Event description

If your business promotion strategies are misaligned with your niche market's readiness for change and willingness to commit time, energy and resources, you're going to keep having lots of open slots in your calendar.

It's said that most people don't like to be sold, but they love to buy. While that may be true for retail shopping, there's a different psychology when it comes to hiring big ticket or long term service providers. The marketing process for us is similar to dating -- it's a careful progression of developing a good relationship.

First they become aware of our existence. Something we do sparks a bit of interest, and curiosity to know a little more begins. If we rush it, we lose. If we take our time, offering more and more of ourselves, a sense of enjoyment and a desire for commitment builds.

Using the Prochaska-DiClemente model of the stages of readiness for change -- recast as readiness to buy or hire -- this workshop looks at how some marketing tactics are timed all wrong and which ones meet your prospects at their level of readiness.

What you'll learn:

~ what to offer people who are only thinking of wanting a change

~ why give-aways are enticing for people getting ready to change

~ how to pitch your services for people ready to make change

~ why you don't need to bother with the rest

The stages of readiness for change suggest an effective funnel approach to marketing a private practice or solopreneur business.

What you'll leave with:

~ a handout that matches specific marketing tactics to each stage of readiness

~ a CD of a workshop previously given on this topic

~ your own plan for meeting your prospects with a progression of service offerings that meet them at all their stages of change.

We'll be in the private community room -- look for a sign on the glass door. Parking is free up to 2 hours. There's a gravel lot just south of the Starbucks if street parking is full.

I think it's brilliant of you to apply the process of change to marketing or buying readiness. Makes total sense to me. I'll see you Saturday.

Hi Darla, yes, it's a perfect model for guiding where to put limited marketing time and dollars. Looking forward to meeting you!
