Zita, thanks for these great tips near the end of one year and beginning of the next. As many of us evaluate our personal marketing plans for 2009 this is a great reminder to include these key people.

It's awfully easy to get into the cycle of our work and not step outside and look at it in this way. I am glad you all found some points that will help start some conversations...that was my hope.
Regards, Debb
Thanks ladies for the feedback.
Hi Jennifer - I loved hearing about your event today. It looks like Valerie is in luck, I thought I'd put in a request behind her. If anyone else cannot attend I'd love to know so I can participate in this discussion.

Great points Phil.
For the 12 years I have been in financial services I have had my next year's marketing plan in place by the end of October and begin implementation November 1. Every January 1st, when my industry colleagues are waking up to the new year - I'm already seeing results.
Jeff above makes a great point about one day a week dedication a few hours to focuing on the following weeks marketing efforts.
I wish you great success!
Sorry we will miss you David.

Valerie - spending some time here this morning reading archived articles and am so glad you took the time to put this piece together.
In my practice - sadly - I receive at least one referral a month where the husband has died and the wife is left trying to piece it all together - and there was no will.
Your article addresses the points I make with my clients regularly - avoidance and who do they talk with.
You made me laugh with the bold For God's sake do something point - keep up your great work.
Zita, thank you again for sharing these important fundamentals for networking. Whether someone is brand new or a seasoned veteran these tips will prove to be invaluable in developing themselves in their business.
