What Deborah does
I am a consultant in commercial real estate and also hold a real estate brokerage license. My clients include developers, architects, retailers and individuals with real estate holdings. I work extensively with their legal, design and finance teams. My role changes with every project - sometimes a project manager, a facilitator, a broker - but what I always do is bring teams together to gather the best ideas no matter who has them. I have extensive development background in retail, office and public projects. I am an organizer, idea gatherer, implementer and often the glue that keeps a team focused. What Deborah does best
What I do best - is quickly assess what we know, what we don't know and what we need to know -and then develop a plan for the missing information. I often use a charrette environment to elevate the conversation between disciplines. I believe in studying both the details & the whole simultaneously and testing feasibility in measured outcomes. Using structured conversations, I help teams work collaboratively & design cross-functionally.
What does Deborah need?
I'm working on an awesome volunteer project for a park in Lower Queen Anne. We need a graphic designer to volunteer some logo designs. It could be a nice portfolio piece, and we are happy to make acknowledgements on the website. This project will get a fair amount of PR.
Education
Formally - too long ago to be relevant but I learn everyday from my friends, my clients, my family.
Experience
For the past four years, my consulting work has included clients such as:
Seattle Civic Center/Triad Development/Foster+Partners
Sunset Bowl Redevelopment/Ballard/Avalon Bay/Ankrom Moison
Waterview Crossing/Des Moines/Sunway Services/Ankrom Moison
989 Elements/Bellevue Plaza/Su Development/various architects
My prior experience includes developing real estate strategies for the Seattle Monorail Project for the voluntary settlement of $100 million of fee & air right parcels.
Before that, as VP of the Commercial Div. for Quadrant/Weyerhaeuser, I directed the leasing efforts for commercial properties leading the division through a re-branding of its properties & outreach to the broker communities.
And as the Dir. of Leasing for Terranomics Development, and Crossroads Shopping Ctr in Bellevue, WA, I negotiated over 100 retail leases with national, regional & local tenants transforming this center into a true "third place" for the community.
