Would there be any interest?
This past spring I decided to turn a longstanding, if modest, 6-pack into an 8-pack. It took about 6 weeks, and I simply added one exercise that was moderately hard and targeted the lower abs, and deleted a less demanding more or less placeholder exercise I had been doing just to boost the overall reps in my ab workout.
About thirty years ago, after working abs for several years but not getting a 6-pack out of it, I was able to create that 6-pack in 21 days while training with some Navy Seals that had joined our ship for a ride somewhere.
Anyway, I was thinking there might be an interest amongst Biznik members in attending a workshop on ab training.
It could include (1) what would be considered normal ab strength for your age and gender (the tests to determine that could be done); (2) an overview of how people most often sabotage their ab training efforts and either injure themselves or fail to get the results they want; (3) a selection of exercises, beginner, intermediate and advanced and how to do them properly and the considerations for choice of exercise, duration, frequency, intensity and objectives, (4) and a discussion about integration: how to get the most benefit from the least amount of time training. One exercise I started doing several years ago is an advanced ab strengthening exercise, a functiional way to train a tumbling roll, a great way to move all the thoracic spinal joints, a great way to stimulate and massage the muscles along the spine, and a way to train the vestibular mechanism or righting reflexes in the ear (which relates to keeping your balance and not getting dizzy when you fall or roll). A few minutes doing this exercise gets a lot of work done in a hurry.
Anyway, I thought there might be some interest. I could run a workshop in my office here in Everett or somewhere in Seattle if there is a suitable spot. It would run about 1-2 hours and there would be a fee of probably $12.
Let me know what you think.
