  • Suggestions for a woodworker in Seattle?

Are there any Biznik people or friends of Biznik people in Seattle who are woodworkers with a table saw and time to fit in a little job early next week? I need to get a 48" square sheet of 1/4" PaperStone cut up into 4" and 9" squares hopefully by the end of Monday or latest Tuesday. The PaperStone product site recommends a "triple chip carbide blade" if possible. Thanks for any connections or ideas!

  • Effective Verbal Business Introductions

Does anyone have advice about how to develop an effective verbal business introduction including a strong delivery if you are not a natural at this? Maybe there is a modern version of toastmasters out there or ?

  • How to price new products?

I am developing a set of products and would like to know if anyone has experience with pricing models for retail products or knows about any good reference materials about this? I can figure out roughly what my materials and production expenses are going to be, but am uncertain about how to incorporate other expenses—such as design and development time, business overhead time, marketing. I’m wondering if there are some standard percentages or some other methods for figuring this out? For the final retail pricing-MSRP-manufacturers suggested retail price, I have heard that retail products are usually priced at 2.2 times the wholesale price.

On the non-concrete end of things, I know that part of pricing is about the perceived value of an item and what people feel good about paying for a certain type of item.

Thanks for any thoughts or information.
