D.J. Montano is quite the renaissance man. His roots in international cultures began early in his career. Directly after D.J. Montano's undergraduate studies at De La Salle University, where he focused his attention on European Studies, the young man served as Junior Protocol Officer and Executive Assistant at the Asia Pacific Economic Community's conference. D.J. Montano is quite the renaissance man. His roots in international cultures began early in his career. Directly after D.J. Montano's undergraduate studies at De La Salle University, where he focused his attention on European Studies, the young man served as Junior Protocol Officer and Executive Assistant at the Asia Pacific Economic Community's conference. During this conference, which was hosted by the Philippines, D.J. Montano helped organize a successful dinner for 18 heads of state, proving his cross-cultural prowess. This experience prompted D.J. Montano to pursue an advanced degree in International Hospitality Management. 

D.J. Montano earned his degree in International Hospitality Management with Graduation Speech Honors at Les Roches in Switzerland, which afforded him the opportunity to travel around Europe easily. This period of his life marked definitive point in influencing his sense of styles and his love for European cuisine. Upon his return to the Philippines, D.J. Montano opened three internationally inspired establishments in Manila, all three of which were received with great acclaim. After the success of his restaurants and his bar, D.J. Montano capitalized on his international experience to launch a career as a Lifestyle Writer for the Philippine Star. 

D.J. Montano writes about travel, fashion, and food, all three of which subjects are heavily influenced by his many travels. As one of the founding writers for the "Y Style" section of the newspaper, D.J.
