Racing For A Cause- Alberta Professionals forming Racehorse Partnerships to Benefit Charities

Posted Jun 16, 2010.

Why should you consider joining Racing For A Cause? As a long time successful breeder and owner of quality Alberta- Bred registered racing Thoroughbreds, Dr. Brenda E. Abbey is also an accomplished career cognitive psychologist and part of an exciting project that hopes to get new Albertans involved as owners in the excitement and social aspects of Thoroughbred Racing! This project has some unique ideas, blending the legal and tax guidelines for owners/lessees of Racehorses{ Under Section 31 of Canadian Income Tax Guide for Hobby Farmers} and the extra option to donate part of the horse's winnings to a charitable cause of each individual's choice for additional individual tax benefits . We are creating 10% percentage LEASE ownerships in a one year [ 2011] commitment for just $2500.00 . The only additional expense is $50. when you apply and receive an Alberta Owners License through Horse Racing Alberta( Similar photo ID to a driver's license). RACING FOR A CAUSE : This project was inspired by successful charitable initiatives in Australia, New Zealand and Europe where partnership groups are formed on a yearly basis to LEASE Racehorses to share in the thrills of Thoroughbred Racing. By choosing to donate portions of the horse's winnings to Charitable, Medical and Social Causes, individual members of these partnership groups have not only had FUN but are also eligible for tax benefits and have made a positive difference by improving the well -being of others in society. Throughout the 2011 year ,we have many social and educational events planned that will bring a more personal connection to the people and wonderful horses involved in our Alberta breeding , training and racing industry . IT STARTS WITH A DREAM .... The POWER, SPIRIT and DETERMINATION of Alberta Thoroughbreds , bred to PERFORM !! Contact Dr. Brenda E. Abbey for Racing For A Cause details , as well as additional Alberta Racing Thoroughbred Ownership options.
