BookmarkIs lack of DPD Permit provided by owner legal grounds for terminating a lease?
Months and months after acquiring a 5 year lease, we learned that the building does not have proper permitting for the "use" cited in the lease. Whose responsibility is/was it to acquire that permit? We were told by a commercial real estate agent (obviously not our own!) that the owner of the building should have acquired all of this prior to us signing the lease. We definitely need to get a permit from DPD asap, and we are about to approach the owner about it. Legally, what are our rights here as the leaseholders?
