As a doula, my role is to provide in-home, non-medical support for families during the sleep-deprived weeks after having a baby (or babies!). I provide emotional support by being a calm presence and a listening ear. I offer physical support by helping with light housekeeping, meal preparation, baby care and sibling care. I also provide educational support in areas involving breastfeeding, bottle feeding, nutrition, birth recovery, infant and parent sleep patterns, and recognizing and responding to postpartum mood disorders.
