My business is booming during tough times without any harder work. I bring together people with a great product/service together with a new way of distribution. A Business Matchmaker should never charge you up front fees and should never put any of your capital at risk. In its purity, its people working together in collaboration with other people for more sales.
Sometimes referred to as Joint ventures, strategic alliances, and partnerships it is where two or more people join together resources to make money together. I am writing a book about how people retired or laid off can earn a living just bringing people together as I do. I am thrilled at the creative side of business people right now starting to look for ways to work together for profit.
About 20% of all revenue in the United States comes from corporations with these collaborations and sadly only 1% of small businesses do any joint ventures for profit. I think it is the culture we live in that makes it so. If you have travelled overseas there is a complete different mentality of community and working together.
Joint Ventures are one of the most efficient ways for small business people to gain prosperity. When you have built a sound network of contacts, support and referrals, you have made a firm base for networking. Collaboration is one of the most effective means for small business people to improve their profit and reach a larger marketplace. Joining forces greatly improves the amount of leverage and growth for businesses that often feel that they are alone and kept apart. There are many parts of networking including creative thinking, advertising, strategic alliances, joint ventures, think tanks, marketing teams and cross-promotion. Unfortunately most networking does not always mean profitability. By taking networking to the next level of trust we are able to create streams of additional income without risking capital. Why is it we are skeptical of working together with other businesses to share profit? I find that promotional Joint Ventures are everywhere if you start to look for them in your business or social communities.
The truth is it’s easy to find people to work with in your own backyard. I put together a 9th grade class of students that needed to raise money for a class trip with a local spa that needed more clients. Simply taking a $40 gift certificate and got it offered at 50% by the spa looking for more clients. The families got a half price spa visit, the kids got their trip paid for making 20% of sales and at my 10% commission I earned $5,000 without much work on my part.
As we face obstacles in these economic conditions, so we must learn new creative marketing skills to overcome any obstacles we face. Look around to those close to you that want you to win and see if you can both make a profit collaborating.
