  • What a powerful article! And well done with your practicle examples of how trust impacts our relationships and business success.

Years ago I heard a speaker on the topic of trust who helped me distinguish between blind trust and authentic trust. As a leader in my own organization I saw my "blind spot" regarding trust. I learned that to be in authentic trust with pepole, I needed to also include the element of holding people accountable.

Without accountability, there is only blind trust. I think we can relate that to our experiences with teens as well.

    Bravo on this article!

  • This was the most powerful two hours I have spent in a long time. I learned a tool I can use in my personl life as well as business. The most valuable part was practicing using the tool and coming to a decision about something that has freed me up and helped me move forward. Thanks, Bob and Hsuan Hua. You are a great team!

  • WOW, Hsuan Hua. This is very clear messge with clear examp;les. I love the visual of the horizontal line and the vertical line. And that gav e me an idea that I could create a graphic with those two lines and measure myself on my competency and capacity for my business development. Thanks! Fran

  • For the past twoyears, I have been using the most fantastic tool for keeping in touch with clients, colleagues, prospective clients and family. You might like to know about it. It provides the HIGH touch of personal hand written notes, and the HIGH technology of the internet.
My businss is based on personal relationships, so it is important to me to cultivate and nurture them at a highly professional level. It's called Send Out Cards. I can choose from 12,000 cards on line for all occasions, or make my own using my own photos from my own browser. I can choose a standard font OR my own handwriting. It is SO fun and SO easy, and I get comments form people all the time about how much they appreciated getting a card in the mail from me.

You can check it out at www.sendoutcards.com/franfisher and you can test drive the system by sending out 2-3 cards FREE to see how it works.
Please contact me at fran@franfisher-coach, or 425-401-1374, if you are interested in learning more.

  • Thanks, Jack. I remember doing the 100th Birthday exercise in one of your workshops many years ago. I still have a copy of my reponse. It was a very powerful experience for me, because it helped to crystalize my life-long vision and purpose.

  • I wish I had thought to bring my camera. Kirk and I had a lovely breakfast in the gorgeous Georgian room setting at the Olympic. Not only did we enjoy getting better acquainted, I appreciate the GIFT Kirk gave me of opening up my awareness to other wonderful venues for professional meetings.
Beauty and ambiance contributes to the quality of the experience.

  • Interesting question. I looked up "wisdom" in the dictionary: "power of judging rightly and following the soundest course of action, based on knowledge, experience, understanding." So, my thought is that wisdom comes from our actions based on what we "visualize." Fran

  • Hi Jen, Thanks!

I start with something deeper than affirmations. I help clients actually discover who they are at their essence, and then create a powerful statement claiming their highest and best core qualities.

My personal "vision" statement, for example is: "I AM divine Inspiration, lovingly and passionately calling forth essence into action and extraordianry expression."

When I am BEING my best self, this is how I show up. And when I lose touch with this, saying this statement brings me back to center.

Then I use daily affirmations as supportive tools to help me stay on track in more specific ways as well. For example, " Today I am expanding my capacity for receiving."

I highly reccommend visiting Nina Durfee's recent article on affirmations. She did a beautiful job of outlining their benefits and how to create them. Fran

  • Nina, this is such a practical approach to affirmations - utilizing our creative mental capacities in a productive way, like a servant versus a master. Thanks!

  • This is an awareness raising conversation, Andrew, and shared so authentically from your personal experience, obviously! A wake up call for anyone who feels like they are "being" of service from their heart, and ending up feeling like a victim.

It occurs to me that a self-reflective exercise could be a two -step inquiry: 1. How am I feeling? 2. How am I spending my "energy?"

Building on your message, Andrew, here is a BOOK that speaks powerfuly abut the "victim - rescuer- persecuter drama traingle and how to transform the pattern: The Power of TED, The Empowerment Dynamic, written by a local author David Emerald. (Bainbridge Island).

  • Thanks everyone for participating fully, contributing to everyone's learning. I especially appreciated Catherine's definition of "confidence." (the ability to know that you have confronted your fear before and you can do it again.) Catherine, if you can clarify that even better, please DO. Didn't you love the book store setting? The ambience was lovely. I will post a couple of photos. for those who couldn't make it, I will plan another one in the fall. In the meantime, "How fully are you living TRUE to your essence?
