  • Marketing Assistance for Poker Coaching

My web site is ranked rather high SEO-wise, but my online marketing isn't reaching who I thought it would (or at least as fast as I thought it would) and I feel I need some counsel in Niche or Marketing or Ad Copy.

In exchange, I'd be willing to assess your poker skills, fill in the fundamentals and enhance them to a competitive poker tournament level.

The Value of this exchange may not be readily apparent as your potential, increased winnings plus skyrocketing self esteem are priceless.

    Have Chips Will Travel.

However, this offer is exclusive to the Greater Seattle area.

If this (online marketing thing) doesn't work, it's back to playing tournament poker for me rather than teaching and I'd much rather teach it.

12 Step Program for BizNik Forum Addiction

I realize I’m a newbie on BizNik, but as a Poker Coach and more than a casual student of Sun Tzu’s, The Art of War, my aptitude at observation is acute.

One thing that has been more than a curious (and humorous) behavior of more than a few members is the addictive pattern shown on the forums.

Please don’t misunderstand me. I completely understand that there is motive involved as well as compulsion. After all, the incentives established by the founders of this site are to get involved, network and communicate. But it seems that by placing that little check mark in the box at the bottom to, “Check to receive an email when someone posts a reply”, is more than some can resist. They MUST reply regardless of the thought that’s running through their head; regardless of the relationship to the thread; THEY ARE ADDICTED TO THE FORUM.

They require some assistance in kicking this problem so I’ve come up with the following self-help 12 step program designed so you (and you know who you are) can fill in the blank and begin the healing process at home.

    Best of success!

Hello…my name is-------------------------------, and I’m helplessly addicted to forums. You should detail your story here. Admit that it has become uncontrollable. Admit that you get up in middle of night to check your email to see if there are any responses you can make. Admit that your cell phone is jammed with alerts for you to respond to. It is just too much information. I realized it was time to take control of my problem.

12 Step Program for BizNik Forum Addiction

    1. I have admitted that I am powerless over the draw of forums. My Business/Career has become unmanageable and will never get done if I worry about the opinions of the other forum addicts living on “the dark side”.
    2. I believe that there is a higher power (than Ping-O-Matic, Google, Feedster, Technorati, Digg and Feed the Shark), that can draw me back to WORKING rather than reading why a couple dozen people were philosophically derailed by the question about ‘The Bible and Your Business’.
    3. I made the decision that I will only check BizNik Forums once a day. I guess I really DON’T need to know about every new quirk, joke, or motivation of the month the second that it’s posted.
    4. I’ve taken inventory of my favorite posts and bookmarked them all for weekend reading.
    5. I am admitting to everyone the nature of my problem, and that I no longer need to read (and respond to) EVERYONE’s posts.
    6. I am sure the BizNik ‘dark side’ will naturally engulf all defective characters, to be flamed into oblivion on any forum post by other noobs who understand marginally more than them for how incredibly stupid they are for asking a question.
    7. I humbly ask that you do not refer me each and every post, as it will only detract from my recovery.
    8. I’ve made a list of all people I’ve wronged by no longer reading their postings/blogs. I will someday try to link to you all.
    9. If I cannot make direct amends with you, I owe you drinks at the next Event/Happy Hour and you can tell me about your favorite divergences from the threads.
    10. I will continually inventory and monitor my forum time, refrain from “me too” posts and extensively long winded responses.
    11. I’m sure I will sacrifice some linkage to the Google gods in order to better understand my own SEO. However the time away from the forums spent in true business endeavors and meditative reflection can only enhance me on the whole.
    12. I will carry this message to others attempting to gain business networking and SEO for their sites to get your ass back to work and quit reading mind numbing sidetracks merely to be noticed. Understanding that Working Your Business is more important than the APPEARANCE of knowing what you’re talking about.

Again, this is done tongue in cheek; aimed at those very few who don’t get it. Make it a great day!
