Indie Plumber

There are two fields in which I specialize: Plumbing, Heating and Photography.

My plumbing career began very early as an apprentice in the family business, by the time I was 19 I was the youngest certified plumber in Tennessee. After relocating to Alaska I expanded my knowledge to include boilers, hydronic heating, and furnaces. Currently I hold my Residential Certification in Washington and work with a fantastic company called Good Services.

Although I often thought I would eventually put away my torch and tools, I have always found myself drawn back to the technical and physical challenge that a trade provides. Plumbing and Heating is far more interesting then people realized and it is very satisfying to provide solutions to peoples' problems.

When I'm not working on "the great indoors" I can be found exploring my other favorite career, photography, at La Familia Gallery which I own with authorLanae Rivers-Woods, singer Rebeqa, and yoga instructor Mary Watts.

For nearly fifteen years I have worked in photography, sometimes as my primary profession and other times as my secondary, but always with a commitment to the tradition of the craft. Over the years I have refined my focus to fine art, commercial, and portrait photography.

Photography provides a wonderful creative balance to my life. At times I have stepped back from the camera, but I'm always drawn back. My camera is never far from my side, even when I'm in the plumbing truck headed to the next job. [less]
