  • Forming an LLC - attorney advisable?

    My friend is going into business for himself and wants to form an LLC. He won't have any partners or employees. The process for making this happen looks pretty straightforward, but he's wondering whether he should get an attorney involved after he's submitted the requisite forms, to make sure he knows what i's to dot and t's to cross.

    I am a sole proprietor and don't have experience with this. Do you recommend my friend consult an attorney and/or tax professional as he forms his business, and for what purposes?

  • Podcasting for the Mac

    I'm a fairly new Mac owner and am thinking about developing a podcast. I'm also considering recording audio courses that clients can purchase and download.

    I'm trying to decide what equipment/software I'll need, besides a microphone (which I already have). For instance, will Garage Band do the trick? If so, what else will I need?

    I'm not a techie, yet not afraid to learn new things. So I'm looking for the "friendliest", least complex option to record audio and create podcasts. What advice do you have?

  • Looking for an Executive Coach

    I know someone who is looking for an executive coach who is experienced in coaching professionals in the skill sets and strategies they need to meet their performance goals at a corporation and advance. He is moving to Seattle this weekend, starting a new job on Monday, and wants to work with someone right away.

    This is not my specialty, but I told him I would give him some names and contact information of coaches whose specialty this is. He has very specific objectives for advancement and wants coaching/mentoring on how to get recognition and promotions. He will be working in a smallish investment firm.
