I'm not a pet sitter, so I don't know the joy in that way, but I sure do know there's nothing like the feeling of walking into the local dog park and being greeted by a happy pack of dogs who are just thrilled to see you. It's true - dogs rule!

    And cats, too

I wanted to say thanks! Michael's presentation was a lovely reminder about how important it is to pay attention to the style of people you talk to - not assuming that they think like you do.

As always, it was a lovely group of people who were great fun to be around. Good stuff!

We pet lovers are an interesting bunch, aren't we? It would be fascinating to know if pet industry people like pet sitters also tend to be more nature-loving.

Many people I know who do this are ok with being in sub-zero weather or (as in the case here in the northwest) spending 6 months of the year being rained on. We don't seem to mind it as much.

Maybe we tend to be more nature-loving in general.

It was a great event! A wonderful group of people and a delightful setting. (Nuthin' like a good glass of wine and good conversation!)

    Thanks everyone!

Darn! I had a last-minute schedule conflict and I won't be able to come tonight. I hope you all have a wonderful time. Happy networking!

Thanks, Pete! It was a great introduction to the MasterMind process and I got some really useful ideas.

It was great fun - and it's wonderful to meet so many other Bizniks who are doing such interesting things. Being a south ender, it was so nice to have something in Renton. Keep 'em coming!

Duh! If the address was any bigger, I would have tripped over it! Thanks for forwarding it to me, anyway. (Clearly, I need a great deal more coffee this morning...) I look forward to meeting you, too

  •

I'm planning to attend, but don't see the address for where it is to be held?

  •

For me, it's finding interesting content and tying it back to items on my website without seeming "salesy"

It was great fun! Being new to this, it was only second event and Robert was the host for that one, too.

It was so nice to meet other Bizniks and just hang out and mingle. Thanks, Robert!

My website is http://campingdogsupplies.com I've been finding some really high quality hard-to-find stuff. It's been fun to put together.

Now, of course, there's the matter of making some actual income with it -- but it's slowly coming.

Great - and thanks for getting in touch.

I'll definitely keep you in mind -- part of what I'm planning for my biz is to donate a percentage of my intake (which right now isn't much, since I'm just getting off the ground) - and your type of program is exactly the kind of thing I'd like to support.

I hope for great success for you!

Thanks both for the info & for taking a look at my blog. this is a new world, so the learning curve is bumpy at times. I appreciate your comments!

My issue is called "massive learning curve." I do have a blog (http://TheCampingDog.wordpress.com). Part of my issue (along with the technical stuff) is figuring out exactly what types of things to be putting up there. I want to be informative and helpful, as well as promote my site, but I'm really not sure about how much to promote the biz without seeming pushy or "salesy."

thoughts about that would be lovely.

I just had another thought -- maybe publishing an article that talks about strengths and weaknesses (for example, what you found easy to do and what you found hard to do) could generate some good discussion points.

    Just a thought...

Sorry to hear about the flu! That's not a fun way to bring in early summer, for sure.

Unfortunately, I'm new to BizNik, too (along with pretty much anything that has do with promoting a new online business....) My guess, though, would be that an open forum where people can post questions is probably a good bet.

For me, it would be useful to have two things -- WordPress tips and tricks to navigate the application, but it would also be very, very helpful to have ideas and thoughts about how to use a blog to promote your business. I've seen lots of un-helpful blogs out there -- but how to do it right?

Take care! And enjoy our beautiful day.
