It's been over 6 weeks since I posted this topic. I'm really surprised that such an important element of business success does not garner more opinions from bizniks.
Does anybody practice this concept, and if so what has been your experience?

Wow Lori, how can we persevere with that many "touches" necessary! My experience over these years does indicate that it takes a lot more than it used to. Many years ago, I could close a sale in the 3rd-4th meeting, but it has definitely grown to more of an average in the 8-10th "touch" these days. You'd think that with more "info" available it would be less, but maybe people have too many choices today.
Duh... from the restaurants in their neighborhood? Check out Lyles Co-Op. He has about 20 members and they bring in the used restaurant oil and relieve the local restaurants of sometimes having to pay to get rid of it.
Mark... Very important. I define my spirituality as a feeling I have within myself that I can't fully explain because it is far greater than I can comprehend. I feel it in everything I do, business or personal, and I let it guide my actions as best as I can.
I love the question: Am I a mortal being that periodically has spritual experiences or am I a spirtual being having a mortal experience? I tend to lean towards the latter.
Therefore, spirtuality is paramount in all my life decisions. I choose to follow my inner most feelings, and usually am not mislead. Although, I do not like to discuss dogma in business related relationships because of the strong feelings many have towards absolutes.
Rather I do express my spirituality through my enthusiasum and desire to always do good (according to that still small voice inside of me) regardless of the profit at stake. As a professional salesman, I try to sell from the "heart". ...Howard
Dan.. When you get to this, I would also like to know how. I need to do some housecleaning in my mailbox. Elizabeth recommends that I must be ORGANIZED and clutter free..... Howard
I noticed we've had good interested so I've bumped up the attendance size. The lunch at the KOI was real good last time we met here. I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone a little better and how we can help each other with qualified referals...HH
Rachel...I look forward to having lunch with you. It's been awhile since we visited...HH
That's interesting. Because I would also do Elizabeth's #1 along with her #2 and then I would take action on the Big Idea's we created.
Justin... It will be great to have lunch with you today. Lyle and I will try to figure out how to get you a biodiesel flower delivery car and 80 cents a gallon fuel. Amanda can insure it for you and Steve will show you how to get all the free restaurant used oil....HH
Thanks for hosting the happy hours on the Eastside. I will schedule a few Eastside lunch Greet & Meets... HH
Pamela... I am a member of an "author's group" that meets once a month for mutual support. Some members have published and others are still writing. Let me know if you want an invite...Howard
Lori.. I've been considering joining the NWEN so I will be very interested in your experience and advice.
Thank you for hosting this subject....Howard
Rossina...Your cards are quality and a good idea. Welcome to Biznik...Howard
Dan... On the "Members...Network Tab" and then the "referrals" subsection of that tab, the link to "view recent activity" on each of the members, does not list the appropriate member's activity BUT instead it is listing the Primary Member's activity. ...HH
Richard... You will have to check with Lyle on that, but I believe you get a gallon of fuel for every gallon of old restaurant oil processed. I've seen it in action, and it's pretty neat. ....HH
Pamela... I do biz all over Western Washington, although I live in Duvall (not to far from you). I have had very good success in meeting good contacts by hosting lunch time events.
I would join with you and host one in Monroe to get you going and show you how to build a regular group for your local area. Contact me if you are interested. With, myself, and another biznik I know in Monroe, we would already have 3 of us....HH
Brianna, I don't know if this is what your looking for but maybe it may help.

I opine along the lines of Nancy and Viv, although most of my concerns have already been corrected by adjustments made by Dan and John already. Thank You.
I think Justin's suggestion that additional networking and activity info can be "tabbed" and I would add that the "landing" tab shoud be skewed toward the viewpoint of a new hit from outside the biznik community offering the personal profile info in the spirit of "radical self promotion" while the subsequent tabs expand on all the neat activity and networking info of that member.
I really liked Andrew's suggestions about designing towards humans as most important and would like to add that we should consider the landing pages of each major site tab is for our "guests" and that the subsequent member profile tabs are for "us bizniks".
I still must say that I love the improvements overall and feel confident that the site will evolve to the best yet.....HH
Paul.. I hosted an event on this subject about 6 weeks ago and the attendees were very interested. I would be happy to participate and help you in any way. Just let me know.
NOTE TO JOE.... Contact me if you are interested in an alt Banker to help you finance your biz. That is what I do.... HH
Thank you all for attending today. I think we had a good lunch and got to know each other much better. I hope to meet with you all again in the future...HH
You know you're addicted to Biznik when you post a Halloween Day Trick or Treat photo on your profile and think anyone will even notice it.
Thank you for those attended. I think we had a very successful conversation. With increased knowledge of each other, we can now give more relevant referrals...HH
Elizabeth...
Not nearly as horrible as watching the "test pattern" in the 50's while waiting for "Howdy Doody" to start..HH
Jan.. It was good to meet you. I think you will enjoy your biznik networking experience. I look forward to seeing you at other events to get to know you better. Remember, referrals usually come after we all become friends first. Keep attending the events, and keep that positive outlook...HH
