  • What do you do with your extra hour today?

Daylight saving time ended early this morning. I am curious how you plan to spend it. I also like to hear how you spent it and how you feel about it.

I woke up and realized I got time. So I went to swim and feel really good right now. Can I plan ahead and enjoy swimming every Sunday morning? I ask myself.

  • Do you have a support structure?

When you are happy, who do you share your vibrant energy with?

When you are excited about a new idea, who do you brainstorm with?

When you are down, who is there for you?

We all need support structures; family, friends, partners, or groups.

Support structure is one of the factors in the book “The 12 factors of Business Success” by Hogan, Lakhani and Marti. It says – “a high level of achievement requires that you put significant support structures in place.”

Share with us – what support structures you have been counting on?

  • Members' Categories

I went to Steve MacDonald’s workshop - "How to Start Using Social Media and Branding to Grow Your Business" last Wednesday. That was an awesome workshop.

From my learning, on thing I did was to add "life coach" and "executive coach" into members Categories. Now, people search for life coach or executive coach in Seattle will be directed to Biznik member category since Biznik is doing a great job on search engine optimization.

Think about the key words your potential clients might enter in Google search and use them to create your category!

  • Is Your Business Model Working for You?

I just read an interesting story in CNN. “Cafe owner Sam Lippert has come up with an innovative way to cope with the recession: He’s done away with pricing and simply asks customers to pay what they want. Lippert says sales and customer count has increased markedly since the change, and he’s looking at adding more staff.”

Maybe it’s time to examine our business models and come up with some ideas to attract new clients. What are your thoughts?

  • How are you doing with your biz plan?

I noticed that it’s easier to get a lane for swimming in my gym since March. I wonder if people are getting relaxed with their New Year exercise plan.

So I thought I would ask – how is your biz plan? The assumption here is you have a biz plan for 2009. How are you doing with you plan? What do you think about it right now?

  • A good time for small business to strive?

Last night news, Redmond Mayor said - "being laid off? start a new business. It will help our economy."

At the same time, my friend in construction field told me the market becomes extremely competitive with low bids from new business owners.

What's your thought or expereince on this? Is it a good time for small business to strive?

  • What are your good moments?

What makes you happy or fills up your energy? When I walked into a Discount bookstore and the book I have been thinking of buying was right in front of my eyes, that's one of my good moments!

I am on vacation with my kids. Spending time with them and being silly are my good moments.

    What are yours?
