Yes. I would spend $15 to learn a few magic tricks. Metaphor is a good coaching tool. :)
Starbucks next to Barns and Noble in Bellevue has a private conference room. You can book two weeks ahead of the event for two hours.

I will come with a guest. We will be there around 4pm. Looking forward to playing!
Mark Yes, I would like to hear one feedback of your client's, and how you asked for the feedback.
I thought your focus was on giving honest feedback. Now, I know your focus was on helping others to give honest feedback by asking certain way. Sorry about the messed up.
Leif, have you heard "rateyourprofessors.com?" My 19-yr-old started to use it three years ago to pick up community college courses and worked well for him. Our next generation is not shy to give feedback and use feedback. :)
David I agree with you - small biz owners have more freedom to structure their biz and can run it more effectively. That's why I like to coach them. :)
Sorry about the mis-spelling; trend instead of trent.
Thank you for asking clarification. I would like you to give someone else a feedback with the approach you prefer and share with us the result created by the feedback and what the feedback sounds like.
What I heard was your inquiry of a different way of giving feedback with the spirit of serving. I would like to see an applicaton of it.
Thanks for taking the request on.
Joe, Rick, Judy and Bob,
Thank you for sharing. If you allow me to challenge further - "By Dec 08, how do you measure the success of your action(s)?"
An example of a measuable success - "I blog twice as much as I did before Bizjam, I noticed I created twice as much as traffic to my blogsite"
Mark,
I heard you. (about the trent and inquiry of it.)
How about modeling what you want to encourage others to do in the next week? Share at least one honest feedback with the format against the trent you noticed and report back to us the result your feedback create.
Are you up to the game? :)
Judy,
I just noticed your post. Thanks for sharing. I was thinking of you - where was Judy who usually has something to say. :) Will check your blog this weekend.
It’s so true that if a leader is not ready to change, he won’t hear much honest feedback.
Another problem I see is leaders in big organizations are so overwhelmed that they overlooked the strategic alignment with the other internal teams. Leadership coaches need to make sure their clients to take deep breathes and think clearly enough to have the vision of leading a successful organization.
Thank you for taking the cost and complexity out of the marketing!
This is for my brand promise after learning from the article -
Coach Seattle promises to bring clarity and creativity into business growth.
Feedback?
I agree that honest feedback helps us grow. And it's out of our control if others can be straight with us or not.
Human beings do things based on emotional safety. Sometimes, it doesn't feel safe to speak up.
What we can do is to provide safe space and set the example. If we are nice and polite, we attract nice and polite clients. Oops....Did I just say "attract"? :)
I ask - what do you like about this coaching session and what do you want more of?
In that context, there is no bad or wrong. It's "what works" and "what more is expected".
Therefore, feedback is really not just about your work. It also reflects user's needs.
For articles, comments could be a reference point. With few votes, is rating really qualified to be a reference point? I am not sure.
High rating probably satisfies ego more than readers if only few votes occured. :)
Thank you all for sharing your experience. You are very generous. I learned from each of you and checked out your profiles / blogs. Looking forward to meeting you in one of the events soon! Keep up that inspiration and motivation!
Thank you for sharing this list. Congrats to the winners. Your contribution is deeply appreciated!
will come by to have a beer and see the magic!
I would like to attend this meeting and week day seattle event won't work for me.
Thank you for getting coaches together
I will host a free workshop for coaches in eastside soon.
Joe,
Just had a chance to check out your blog. Thank you so much for the write-up on Lisa Johnson's session. I already book marked lulu.com since publishing is one of my goals.
Mark,
Thank you for the clarification. I think you know my intention of the request other than for my own learning. :)
We usually got very inspired after a conference learning. The big question is always - what do you take away and what are you taking on? Grounding the learning is as important as learning itself..
I see your vision of differentiation on biz development. Could you eleborate "rock the product"? Thanks.
Maura, Joe and Mark,
Thank you for the replies.
Mark,
Could you please explain in plain English, what blocked you using social media effectively (sinking) and what exactly you got form bizjam to help you move forward? And how do you plan to move forward now? Thanks.
Thank you. Kirk.
It was a fun event. It's my first time to bet horses and did pretty well!
Karen and Tim, How did you do in the end? You were fun players!
I added some reading resources for the topic. Will update again when my coach's book on 3 dimensional breath is published.
Jen,
People usually do things when they feel emotionally safe. Advising someone who doesn't feel safe to be vulnerable is not gong to work.
If it is my client, I would work with him on his self-confidence. When one feels confident, he has the freedom to be anyway he wants to be regardless his environment.
Readers, please share your thoughts.
Please also consider to attend my workshop this Sat in Bellevue starting at 10:30am Get Real About Your Business - Say What You Mean and Mean What You say.
We will have a fun and authentic conversation over the topic.
From my experience, one-time deal processes that work the best are the ones connecting people. Have you heard about Challenging Day for middle schools kids? It opens teens’ hearts to accept each other in one visit.
For big organizations, process connects people has its value. Result might not be obvious and people do tend to work better together after a team building meeting.
Personal growth is a continuous process. One-time deal might be an eye-opening experience. Results come from follow-up work to deepen the learning.
Coaches help clients to see what is important for them, what works for them, what motivates them and what their learning experience is. It's about empowerment - teaching clients to learn fishing instead of giving them fish. :)
Wonderful offer! Thank you. I will plan for it!
Patrick,
Thank you for the awesome evetn. I learned a lot. Can't wait for the next one!
Karen,
Sorry that you missed us. I was lost for a while.too.
