  • Hi Sheryn,

I am sorry, I had to cancel. A last minute photo shoot and deadline is happening this morning. But I signed up for your event in October.

    Best wishes,

    Ingrid

  • Hi Kate and George,

Thanks for letting me know about the open spot. I just signed up for the September 3rd event. That date works better for me. Looking forward to it!

By the way, are you considering to do a workshop in Seattle?

    Thank you!

  • Hi Susan,

Thanks so much for the event. It was the perfect balance between the precise information you gave us and being "left to our own thinking" by working with a partner. You created a very productive atmosphere.

I uploaded some photos, that show the concentrated and inspired work, I think. Check it out!

    Thanks again. Ingrid

  • Hi Ksenia and Kate,

Thanks so much for this event. It was very inspiring.

What I especially liked about it was that you showed the possibilities of this media of moving images. That you encouraged us to develop our own fantasies about presenting ourselves and our business in a video clip.

At the same time you made very clear the realistic corner stones of going through a project like this in terms of money, time etc.

It was great for me to connect to my own film making years ago in the "experimental" art film and animation film area. These are interesting times...

Thanks so much! I definetely will look out for another event of yours.

  • Hi Rachel,

I appreciate your statement about your pricing. Good to see that in these times where many of us are considering to lower their fees to be able to compete you are standing up and waving with your arm... :)

I think to do good work and to be able to give the best to the client we have to feel strong and have to have pride in what we are doing. If we make ourselves small by charging less than we feel our work is contributing to the other persons life and business, the quality of your work will suffer.

In the end it probably comes down to really be clear about the uniqueness of what we have to offer and how it will "enrich" the client.

    Thanks again for speaking out.

  • This is a beautiful article. Thank you Ken, it gives me food to the thoughts I woke up with this morning: How to reach out to clients without marginalizing my services.

I too have a strong connection to Wrigley Gum (without being a chewing gum fan ).

One of my earliest childhood memories is hanging at the big gate (on the safe side inside the garden) of my grandfathers house in a little village in northern Germany, watching the american soldiers driving on their big trucks and tanks through the village. This must have been in the middle of the 1950's, when the americans troops were still in Germany as part of the allied occupation.

The soldiers were sitting on their armored vehicles and laughing and waving to the children on the sides of the street. We shouted the only english words we knew: "Chocolate, chocolate!" and "Chewing gum, chewing gum!" In the hope they would throw their goodies over to us. Which they did, like happy generous gods.

That was my first encounter with Wrigleys Gum and is still there as a memory in the back of my head when I see a package of this brand. It stands for generosity, promise of a better life after the war and the possibility of trust.

It's so interesting to hear about the background story of this. What Wrigley did with it's strategy was not only to create an emotional connection to the american public, but also to make the name known international.

  • Hi Anita,

I feel so bad but I have to cancel. A big event at the weekend is demanding so much organization and I am getting nervous. Still I will watch out when you do it again.. It's definitely a great opportunity to look at the websites together and mine could use it.

    Thank you!!

I will contact Karen Andersen who is interested to come.

  • Lara and Dan,

Thanks so much for this event and for putting yourself out there. I understand much better now what an amazing tool this website is. (Which made me upgrade to an active member yesterday..)

The central message - besides all the useful information how to use the site - that stays with me is: "People trust people, not businesses... It allows you to have a voice"

That's how the Biznik way feels: To develop your own voice of doing business as a human being and connecting with others on the way.

I am very inspired and energized. The voice in my head does not run in circles, but can connect with "real" people".

    Thank you!!

  • Hi Patricia ,

I want to thank you for this productive day. It was a great format with the checking-in conference calls. It felt we were a team

The feeling of focus and accomplishment of that day still stays with me. It would be great to repeat this on a regular base.

Hmm, this opens up new possibilities..

  • Hi April,

I love your article. Makes me laugh. Maybe I should go out now and run through the garden and jump up and down. Sitting for too many hours at the computer...

My idea of happiness is running around in the warm rain on the meadow without anything on. Did I ever do it? Not in the last several decades...

Ok, at least the image in my mind lifts me up.

Thanks again for the reminder to keep things in balance.

  • Hi Connie,

Beautiful article. Such an elemental truth. Surprisingly simple, but we always forget it. It seems it's about allowing the gap between the words, between the "doing". Allowing the breath in between..

Thank you!! This is a wisdom good to have in your pocket when you stand in this "lonely" place as a speaker..

  • Thank you Howard, for hosting this great event. It felt like the "real thing". So many valuable resources and knowledge was coming together. To learn more about how to use what the biznik site has to offer was great too.

I just uploaded some shots. They show the energy and spirit that was there.

    Thank you!
