Generous Hearts

One door opens, another door closes. There is a certain irony in life. There is a power in the generosity of spirit, of compassion and of course, the passion of the belief that you are doing a good thing. This I know and believe with all of my heart. The Angeleah Foundation will always be that journey for me personally. Because of PDCA Washington State Council members and National PDCA friends plus many more, an idea was born. The amazing Board Members of the Foundation are a dedicated handful of my dear friends who walked through fire with me and for that I will be eternally grateful. After 3 years of hard work the Angeleah Foundation is now dissolved, however, the generous donations given have not been taken lightly, nor were they in vain. The Angeleah Foundation has tuned its monies over to Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital to help with the formation of the very first chapter of Mended Little Hearts in the entire Northwest! A years and a half ago the Executive Board of the Foundation approached Mary Bridge with an idea – that a support group be formed for parents and caregivers of children born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD’s). We met with the decision makers of the hospital and convinced them to support and endorse this idea 100%. I am now able to report that it is off and running. We gave it wings. These are amazing people all across the country that are doing what we were convinced was needed early on in the development of the Foundation. All of the supporters of the Foundation within PDCA we thank you! You all had a part in helping us form the Mended Little Hearts Chapter in Tacoma, Washington. That inspiration will flourish and grow exponentially. All of you have helped us create something truly wonderful – help for families in crises learn how to cope and to also have a place to meet to gain strength from each other. One small voice can make a difference. This I know from the bottom of my heart. The work continues…
