If you love Texas style food with a compliment of easy spice, I recommend El Jefe's menu at Austin Cantina! Many of us at biznik had a first hand taste of several items on the menu as well as a taste of the house margarita! Awesome, coming from a Texas resident. Join Jefe at his next biznik event or I recommend just stopping in at this local Ballard eatery and enjoy the great service and food!

Jefe does in fact both manage service and cook very well!

You must try the: chipotle mashed potatoes, banana pudding, TexMex caviar and the apple chutney, which comes with the fundidos so you'll have to try those too! Oh - don't forget a mojito or margarita! Wooeee!

Staff is great. Food is great. Place is full of neat Texas artwork (don't miss the bathroom poster collage!) and looks and feels great too.

I have missed the alt-crew events that Sierra hosted at Spitfire and discovered that after I stopped going, the events stopped happening. This is sad, and I’d like to see if we can resuscitate the group with a different organizer, different location and different night of the week. Is it wrong to keep the same name? Alt-crew networking seems so appropriate. This was her event http://biznik.com/events/the-altcrew-2nd-to-last-monday-every-month. Would this crew attend an after dinner event for $5.00 apps and drinks at Austin Cantina? What if we did it first Wednesday, at 7:30? If I get enough interest I’ll finalize details this weekend and have a “night after the election” event. Not sure if Weds will be a long term solution, let’s see what people have to say… Your feedback would be appreciated. [less]
