Recognizing that it was the day after a big vacation and relaxation holiday and knowing that very few of our invited guests could/would attend, Dennis and I met over lunch anyway.
Together we strategized on how to refer business to each other. One tactic is for each of us to invite 2-3 people to the next Elevate! lunch so that at least one of our guests can attend. 2+2=4.
Now if we can just get each of our core Biznik buddies to do the same! 6+6=18
"Eighteen!" you say. Oh, yes. There is a synergistic effect once a core group of people set their minds to creatively helping each other grow their business.

UPDATE: 1. We will have access to the full Piedmont Club lunch buffet. There was a miscommunication last month over the menu. 2. Parking is included. Park under the bldg. Afterwards, be sure to get your pass from the lady at the front desk before riding the elevators down. 3. Please attempt to register early from now on so that we can all see who is coming and can therefore invite guests that would be good introductions for you. 4. Use this comments section to tell us specifically who you want to meet.

Dr. Ivan Misner, in the recent New York Times bestseller, Truth or Delusion, says, “We truly live in a high-tech, high-touch society. The more technologically advanced we become, the more important it is to reach out and touch real people in our work – to connect on a personal level with people.”
And yet, as new as all this technological connectivity is, it simply takes us back to an earlier era, when we lived in small communities with our extended families and knew all our neighbors. The old ways have become new again.

Love the idea of being able to see who the new members are nearest to me. However, unless I did something incorrectly, the feed is giving me new members all over the country despite having my location in the feed url. (feed://biznik.com/members.rss?city=Winston+Salem&distance=50&lat=36.094801&long=-80.243423)
Have I found a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Jean - my apologies for not being able to attend. Hang in there. Biznik and online networking are relatively new concepts for the Triad. We're gonna see it grow and blossom into something special over the next few months.
