  • Hi Goldie,

I agree with you. Video can have a powerful trust building effect when used correctly. It is one more tool in the kit to let your potential clients and customers see the real you.

Thanks for writing such a clear and concise article on the subject.

  • What a great article. I agree completely Robert.

The philosophy is sort of like giving love. Just when you think you don't have anything left to give - you find out you do and give a little more. The outcome is normally profound.

BNI uses the slogan "Givers Gain". When we do what we love and give without expectation it comes back to us.

  • Thanks for this. I have always known when a font does not look right and is therefore hard to read, but now I have the background as to why.

I had no idea how technical this process really is.

This was a refreshing and practical article to read.

  • I too do my best to live by "The Four Agreements". Assumptions can be so very dangerous. Some would call it fortune telling or predicting the future. On the cover of the book Blink, Malcolm Gladwell calls it the power of thinking without thinking.

In certain dangerous situations this primitive instinct is necessary. In most cases we need to slow down and ask ourselves what is the truth of the situation.

You have put this so eloquently in your article. Thank so much for this. I am sure you will continue to see a great response to it and I am willing to bet on that assumption!

  • Thanks for this. You hit on a few points that are very sensitive with social networking. Sometimes it is hard to see the benefit when you don't see the results right away, but a little faith in the process makes all the difference.

  • What a great way to express gratitude. Congratulations on working with Joe Shirley and overcoming your speaking fears!

As I was reading your post it reminded me of a Ted Talk on saying thank you.

Thank you - for your heartfelt article.

  • David,

This is so true. It is about living on your terms and trusting your instincts.

When you are no longer comparable then you are unique.

It takes you out of competing with every other person or business that does the same thing and makes you more interesting and usually successful.

  • Hi Dale,

I enjoyed this article very much. Getting in touch with nature is definitely one of the easiest ways to inspire creativity.

Your article reminded me a little of the Julia Cameron book The Artists Way, which is all about finding your creativity even when you do not consider yourself to be an artist.

  • Nice post Rick. I worked in radio for many years on air and in the promotions end of things. Sales reps don't always have the best reputation in the industry. The ones that are successful are the ones that sell ethically. Sounds like you fit in that category.

The points you are making are key. I particularly agree with keeping it simple, repetition and target your market via the best time slot and station.

With the state of the economy right now I often say - you can't afford not to advertise.

  • Suzette,

Thank you very much for bringing this book up in a business setting. You are absolutely right, these agreements whether in business or personal life are applicable.

As people become more concerned about economics, politics etc. these principles are what can change our outlook. It can be so easy to come from a place of fear and lack instead of connection and perspective.

I appreciate you made this post real by giving us a glimpse into your life and for sharing your creative insight.

  • Susan,

Thank you for posting this. You are right the best response in times like this is to admit there is fear, but choose to move out of that place.

It is an interesting and effective practice to give more when logic would dictate it makes the least sense to do so.

  • I really enjoyed reading this. What a good reminder. In tough financial times, when people are being let go and more work is put on those left behind it is so important to find your voice and be clear about what you are willing to do.
