Had a change of plans. Will still attend the afternoon session ... for those who know what I'm talking about.
Thanks, Bob. I got all of it accept for the following two points:
1) In the sentence "Now download to your site again, keeping the first download intact, in case something goes wrong", what do you mean by "... download to your site again ..."?
2) How are links affected for files if they're inside the Media Library vs outside? Do they need manual redirection?
Thanks, Jeremy
I looked at this issue, as well.
I ended up installing wordpress locally on my hard drive, with the intent to transfer the site and database to replace my current site when completed.
This works b/c I'm the client in this instance. I'm curious to see what responses this generates.

That's a negative on Amzn S3. :( Have not tried it.
Though, curious to hear how you view S3 vs YouTube/Vimeo or other third party video hosting options when you have time.
My co. does a lot of video production, and in our 2 plus years of business you're the first person I've met who uses S3! Maybe I've been missing out on something!!

I currently have WP 2.9.1 installed on my computer LOCALLY. After I create the site I'm going to transfer it and the database to my hosting account.
I have had better luck using Vimeo videos than YouTube, for some reason. Though this issue, and the fact that I've generally been successful in using this plugin, may have something to do with my current installation.
Hey D'vorah,
I've been using this plugin on my new WP site (not yet live):

Thanks again for another solid WordPress workshop, Bob.
It's great that you make yourself available for these sessions, as well as helping people solve WP-related issues outside them.
Keep it up!

Hey Richard,
Great event today, and great turnout. I hope to continue to see this group grow, as we all seem to benefit from the collection of minds!
See ya next time.
-Jeremy
Thanks, Donna! Great article, and perfect timing, as I'm in the middle of re-designing our website and debating what take-aways to place at the end of our lead generation efforts!
Wish I could have made it. Had to audible due to a pesky client (god bless'em).
Catch you next year!
Thanks for throwing this event, Najat. Looking forward to future events.
-Jeremy
Thanks for a great event, Rich. I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate being a part of something that is sure to grow over time.
-Jeremy
I realize it's last minute, but what's the plan for lunch, Richard??
Hey Bob,
Thanks for putting on this workshop. Two questions for you:
1) Will we be discussing ways we can optimize WordPress for search?
2) Will we be discussing ways we can customize the look of a WordPress site beyond our own specific combination of template looks? i.e. If I'm a competent graphic designer, will we discuss how to incorporate our own designs into the WordPress framework?
Thanks, and looking forward to next Monday.
Would love to attend, however, a last minute conflict has come up and I will not be able to make it.
I will be keeping an eye for similar events in the future. And if you're maintaining a notification list of people who would like to attend this workshop but would like to attend one in the future, please put me on it.
-Jeremy
Bummer! Would love to attend, but we have a shoot that day. If anything changes I hope to attend.

Hey Steve,
I went to this same event on 2/11, which was EXCELLENT. Thanks!
I realize you have an agenda to get through, but I'd love to go again just to hear the things we didn't have time for on 2/11. Namely, more twitter techniques and how to tie social media into "your brand."
Do you have any plans to spend less time on the opening parts of your presentation and more on the latter???
Thanks!
Steve,
Truly a great presentation. I will make it a point to attend all your future events, simply based on the amount of information I got out of this one.
I look forward to receiving your monthly newsletter on social media and marketing insights, which is well worth the $17.99 price. Also, will you send out that deck, already?!
My only regret is that we didn't have enough time to get into the "branding" portion of your presentation. Maybe skip the group introductions at the beginning next time?
Thanks again, Steve!
Thanks for this article, Charlene.
I have an ad agency and Twitter is invaluable for hearing what people are talking about RIGHT NOW.
Twitter is also a great idea generator. Charlene is right. Twitter is useless if you don't take time to find and follow interesting people.
I started following one individual, and in the first day she gave me several ideas for a campaign i'm putting together for Blackberry. She said "I think i have a problem: I check my blackberry for email when i have my computer open to gmail," clearly stating that she has blackberry addiction, which had manifested itself in a very interesting way.
That type of information typically comes from expensive focus groups!
So, while Twitter is a great communications tool, it's also important not to forget it's a great tool to essentially "ease drop" on your target audience.
