What Jeremy does
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Existentialism and Phenomenology. Simply put, this perspective speaks to our fundamental experience of both the world we live in and our places as individuals in this world, and ultimately to the meaning we create for ourselves based on these experiences. I believe that this approach, which emphasizes meaning making, freedom, and choice, provides a solid foundation from which to engage in psychotherapy.
I am trained and proficient in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and incorporate these approaches in my work with individuals and groups. Ultimately, regardless of technique or approach, I believe in grounding the therapeutic relationship in respect, genuine dialogue and a willingness to learn.

Experience
During my second year at Seattle University I completed a nine-month internship at Harborview Medical Center in inpatient psychiatry. I was subsequently hired as a Mental Health Specialist at Harborview and I am currently employed there.
Working at Harborview has been a challenging and rewarding experience. I have encountered individuals suffering from a wide array of mental and emotional disturbances and have worked with them in the context of both one-to-one and group therapy.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State.
