I am a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and, as of the end of 2008, I am in my 17th year of practice here in the Seattle area.  The core of my philosophy tells me that if we give the body what it needs and remove the obstacles to wellness, that nature in it's wisdom will find the balance. I like to work with motivated individuals to help them gain a higher level of vitality. I like to think of myself as a health coach, someone who gives you the information and inspiration to do what you need to feel good. As a Naturopath, I believe in taking time during my appointments to get to know the whole of a person. Each visit is approximately 45 minutes and is covered by most health insurance carriers.

... just about anything that walks in the door! However, I have a special interest in musculoskeletal pain and injury. I use techniques such as Prolotherapy, also known as RIT (Regenerative Injection Therapy) and a fascinating new technique called PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) which is a way of harvesting growth factors from your own blood and injecting them into the site of injury. My approach is very eclectic, using nutrition and supplements, diet enhancement, botanical and homeopathic medicines - and of course, my hands. I also have a keen interest in gynecology. Aside from performing routine gynecologic exams, I work a lot to balance women's hormones and address female organ issues. Finally, as a holistically trained doctor, I have had tremendous success in finding the root causes to resolve various gastro-intestinal problems, including colitis, IBS, IBD, Reflux, ulcers and the like.

Presently, I am in a new space of my own on Lake Union and I am looking for another ND to bring on and train in gynecology and the injection techniques.

I've been practicing the craft of this medicine for over 16 years. I've served on several boards, currently with the Naturopathic Academy of Therapeutic Injections with whom I am also an instructor. I have taught at Bastyr U, NIAOM, Bellevue Massage School and others. In my past life, before medicine, I sailed the high seas as an environmental activist with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
