I don't feel like doing my work right now.

Ask me a question about your work. Read these for inspiration, then ask away!

  • Lobster video is online now

Come visit our little experiment (me, Barry Hurd, and Joe Narciso) in social media.

It will be interesting to see if it goes viral and what happens when you produce something that tens of thousands (or more) see and pass around.

Let us know what you think of it. Don't worry, we have hard exoskeletons. We can take it.

  • It's Joe Hage's birthday!

In a moment of shameless crustacea, for my birthday, I'd love it if you all visit BarackLobster.us later today.

The Saturday Night Live boys are "this close" to releasing the video parody of the B-52's Rock Lobster.

Everybody I've shown the rough cut to says 'I can't wait til it's done so I can send it to my friends."

  • Barack Lobster!

I was going to post this in Coffee Break when I realized the implications for Bizniks with online businesses.

Biznik Joe Narciso and I dreamed up Barack Lobster a few weeks ago and now he's come to life.

-- 36 hrs ago I thought let's have a site to support the video.

-- I thought we'll gain extra exposure for our own websites.

-- I set up BarackLobster on Twitter.

-- Joe said, "Hey, why don't we sell shirts too?!"

    And here's the punch line.

I called Barry Hurd. He put www.baracklobster.us together in under 24 hours. I spent 15 hours on copy.

    The implication for you?

A professional-looking Web site can be yours in under a week. We have a storefront, a blog, comments, plug-ins, and embedded videos. We're adding a section where you can download the art.

Have an online dream? Go make it happen today!

P.S. Follow the Barack Lobster campaign on Twitter and share it with your friends. This one's gonna go viral.

  • The Joe Hage Twitter Experiment

I emphatically urge you to join Twitter.

I've gone from "I don't know what the big deal is" to "I can't live without it" in three weeks.

Here is the second article I've written on the subject.

Read it. Join Twitter. Grow your business.

Share your experiences below. And follow me at http://twitter.com/joehageonline.

    See you there!

  • Less than $75/hour

I've met a whole bunch of Bizniks who are charging $75 or less for their services.

What are you, nuts?! (Trying to be a little provocative here.)

Inflation this month was +5.3% versus year ago. It's the biggest jump in 17 years! It's time to take pricing, people!

If someone can't afford you at $75/hour, they need to look for someone who didn't get this Wake Up Call.

And if you say, "but that's the going rate," then I reply, "then you're not marketing yourself correctly."

Now go out there and command what you're worth!

  • Timed out on YouTube

Trying to upload videos, I keep getting timed out or error messages before the video completes loading.

It says it should "take a few minutes." This is taking me a few hours.

Anyone got some tricks out there?

Who's the last Biznik you hired and how was your experience?

Me? I hired Tia Peterson today to upgrade my WordPress blog, update my themes, and figure out how to redirect stuff.

  • Delisting WordPress?

At BizJam, somebody said that Yahoo was going to stop recognizing the old, less stable versions of WordPress in search results.

I'm using Version 2.3.1 on joehageonline.com. Is that the one that will be "delisted"?
