How Green is Your CPA

Each year we work to become a bit more green. We scan client docs. We print returns as pdfs. We have been e-filing for a few years. Although the version we save is electronic, we always sent a paper copy of the return to the client, because we want to be a premium provider. However, we recently changed our system. Now we send the client a pdf along with an email that states that they can get a paper copy if they specifically ask (somewhat like restaurants that provide water only upon request).

By the way, I am hosting an event on Tuesday to discuss 2009 tax updates.

I Twittered on Accident

I have had a Twitter account for a little while, but I don't really use it. I went to Twitter just now - a website wanted my Twitter name (seattletaxman). I saw a post from me posted two days ago about an article I wrote for Ezinearticles: Tacoma Tax & License Requirements (subtle plug). Only I never made that post. When I completed my profile information at Ezinearticles, they asked for my Twitter name. They made the post automatically when I posted the article.

There is so much social media to learn and with which to waste time. I just love it when it works without me being involved.

Have any day traders made money this year?

In my business, I see the personal financial information for clients in most industries. In years where the stock market is going up, I hear about great market timing methods guaranteed to make money, even when the market goes down. In good years, most all the day traders make money. I haven't seen any this year. Has anybody out there done well this year?

The Google algorithm is secret. Is the Biznik Rank Algoithm secret? (i.e. how does Biznik determine who shows up first on the member page). I've seen tips here and there (e.g. get a Biznik badge to increase your profile). Is there one place that explains how much juice you get from each activity?
